I just wonder if the signing Rasmussen and the rumor yesterday has someone assuming that means Kruger is on the block.

I found it odd that suddenly I heard Kruger and AA's names in a rumor (form a credible source) for the firs time all summer.

I will just say this, Dennis Rasmussen is a game hockey player but he is a 4th liner, SLOOOWWWWWW, and kinda weak in the dot. He is not a Kruger "replacement" by a long stretch.

So I am now wondering if the Hawks might have something in the works for a center.

If Kruger is shipped, even if it's for another centre, I would have preferred Danault as the 4th line PK specialist (which he looked more than capable of) vs. Moose. And that's not a knock on Rasmussen.

I do, but I understood the impetus of the trade (too bad the plan didn't work out) and the idea that Kruger was staying softened the blow of losing Danault.

With so many new faces, Q could have had the option of 3 years of instant chemistry on the 4th line of Danult and McNeill.

Those 2 (along with Ross) played pretty well together during their time in RFD if I'm not mistaken, Eli?

He's a really good guy... not a great hockey player though.

I think he stays in EDM for what it's worth. He and Connor McDavid are really close. So much so Connor was distraught when they sent him down to the AHL last year.

I do know Gadzik has a great heart and motor...no question. I do respect him for that, but you know and I know the only reason Vandy is bringing him up is because he fights.

Technically yes. But Danault is home. He has no reason to leave and his contract shouldn't be an issue for Bergy who wanted him so badly.

Just a thought, but if Danault would sign why not ship Shaw to Montreal for him and a lateish pick if you can. Not sure how high they are on him but that could make a lot of sense. Then you could move Kruger and have his replacement ready to step in right away. With the extra money you could probably sign Ladd. Panik, Danault, Moose, Desi are 4 out of your bottom 6. Just a thought

Agree Al, but ya gotta remember who's ultimately driving the bus here with SB sitting behind him, how much of a coincidence it is that Lucic puts him self out there and immediately the crap breaks about Hawks dangling Shaw and Kruger,coupled with the fact Ladd says he's gone and Toews had his say with the FO after the season about his desire to have non beer leaguers for line mates next year. This would be the perfect PR splash for Uncle John to get another high end FA that is 27 years old and checks most of the boxes Toews wants. Do the Math, what Shaw and Krugers money total up to Looches 6 mill bar line. Shaws guy is barking up the 4million dollar a year tree also.

They are the best in the business when it comes to selling players on the experience here, plus Lucic I am sure is on Toews short list. As for panik I forgot him he will go on the 3rd line let motte and Schmaltz get accustom to the pro level in rockford. No way runbald gets us pedan but I'd take pedan as our 7th dman over svedberg. That Team would be fun to watch.

The pick has no value because it won't be anything higher then a 4th. Kruger's contract isn't bad. Not when the likes of Boyd Gordon and Casey Czikas make the same amount of money.

Offer sheets are like Unicorns since the lockout. Much rumored but never seen.
Teams aren't going to offer sheet guys like Shaw, Danault and the like. Its just plain bad business. While all those guys are valuable to a team, they just don't have star power or are difference makers.

I alway liked Lucic but a much different player than Shaw or Krueger.

I asked someone close to things with a west coast team because rumors were out Lucic was leaning toward the Ducks. My guy said he thinks LA will find away....But he also said Lucic likes it on the West Coast.

Campbell makes sense here for a few reasons...I think he is this year's Brad Richards signing.
