Clearing space for Ladd or Lucic on the 1st line or the stuff with Malkin is gaining steam. |

I think the MOOSE moves very well for a large man at 6'4" 210lbs. I was campaigning for Moose in the lineup for Round 1. Plays 200ft, wins physical battles, NHL-level puck skill (not flashy but not stone hands either), and can establish residence in front of the opponent's goalie. I was a big fan of his first year, and I would not be surprised to see Kruger moved (given the tweet from Kuc) and Moose as his replacement for $2.5mil less. I was pretty bummed when it was reported that he was leaving for Sweden. - EnzoD
Agree with this assessment. Kid produced, played in the mucky areas, moved well doing so, big body and had a respectable 9.5 shot percentage.

Yeah I noticed that when I looked at his stats. He has been out quite a bit. - z1990z
And that's one of the reasons I wouldn't do Kane for Malkin straight up like someone suggested earlier. Kane isn't injured nearly as much |

I guess if you move Kruger and don't resign Shaw...you are setting up for getting Campbell back and maybe have 4 to 4.5 for a top six winger....while calling up a few guys from Rockford. Makes sense I guess. You still keep Crawford. |

Oh no doubt, he can't take over the Kruger role, yet. That doesn't mean he's not useful. ....... - Mr Ricochet
I would like to point out that the Hawks record last year with Danault+Moose as the bottom 6 centers was better than with Kruger+Shaw/Desi. Check out the HERO charts comparing Kruger and Danault. Considering neither Kruger or Danault offer any offense, I think Montreal got a long-term shutdown C with ELITE level possession and shot suppression metrics.

StanBo and Q (for not playing Weise more) really franked up bc I think a bottom 6 with Danault+Moose for a combined $1.5mil cap hit this year would have been a better option than what we are currently looking at. |

And who plays 3C? 4C sounds like a split between Moose and maybe Lundberg? |

Agree with you here on a Ladd or Lucic possibility if Krugs and Shaw are gone.

Johnson could be a possibility as well. He plays a well rounded game and led North Dakota in faceoff % |

I was a big Al Secord fan, if the Hawks signed Milan Lucic I'd be so happy I'd piss in my pants! Bout time someone to have Jonathen Toews back out there plus at least pot 20! |

Lucic would be awesome. If we are handing out a big contract (IDK how?), I vote Lucic at $6 x6 over Ladd or Malkin ( ) |

I'd certainly take Lucic over Malkin if for no other reason than price. Don't know who's gonna kill penalties with Kruger gone though, I don't think Lucic ever did in Boston |

I just wonder if the signing Rasmussen and the rumor yesterday has someone assuming that means Kruger is on the block.
I found it odd that suddenly I heard Kruger and AA's names in a rumor (form a credible source) for the firs time all summer.
I will just say this, Dennis Rasmussen is a game hockey player but he is a 4th liner, SLOOOWWWWWW, and kinda weak in the dot. He is not a Kruger "replacement" by a long stretch.
So I am now wondering if the Hawks might have something in the works for a center. - John Jaeckel
I know most disagree but if I'm Bowman i'm selling the most expensive center besides Toews...AA. His NMC kicks in on July 1. |

Lucic fits like a glove next to Toews and Hossa. Big body that can skate, win board battles, be part of the cycle, establish net front presence, and has 20G finishing ability. I don't think I would even want Malkin (if it were an option), with his cap hit and durability concerns. Lucic has not had any injury concerns...only inflicting pain on the opposition. Would be great to have Big Looch dishing out punishment on the Blues for a change. |
