Thanks JJ. Great insight.

As for the deal... there is no way the hawks can have 3 players making $30M+.
Can't work. 19 or 88 would have to go the other way. Not. Going. To. Happen.

Probably right. Doesn't mean they didn't talk.

For every "see I told you so" scenario JJ can come up with like the nill/sharp scenario, we can come up with a 100 on the other side

It's not a solid point imo

anything could happen but highly doubt it in the cap era. you are not getting malkin for marcus krugr and artem anisimov
- martox

No, I wouldn't think so either, those were just two names I heard were mentioned. Does not, did not, preclude others. Sorry, I should have been more clear but Twitter is tough that way.

First, I respect Bob Mckenzie—for what he does. But he's not God. Nor or all 30 NHL GMs required to register every conversation they have—or don't have—with him. They're not. So the mantra that goes "Mckenzie says it's not legit (or is legit) and you have to believe that" is silly. Please.

- John Jaeckel

But I will tell you what Bob Mckenzie is...a guy who puts out wildfires if he happened to be in someway behind them.
He was partially blamed or made the "source" of the Ben Bishop for the 6th overall pick rumor (after the moron's in Pittsburgh thought that the Flames woudl turn it over to HELP them solve THEIR Cap issues? Calgary is the one dealing from strength right?
He cause)
Bob casually suggested that the Flames call Stevie Y in TB, not that they were discussing a deal...but the wildfire rumor got tweeted to kingdom come.

Bob McKenzie instantly restated what he really said...

I think that THAT is who Bob McKenzie is..not GOD but more of a guy who is always willing to discuss the "mights' behind the real.

You must be related to Eklund Make up BS and pass it on. Malkin loves Pittsburgh as do his parents and Pittsburgh loves them as well. Why would you want to go to Chicago one of the most violent cities in America If I lived in CHicago I would be looking to escape

Panarin and Keith for Malkin?

That would be a great deal for Pittsburgh. I'll leave it at that.

- John Jaeckel

it would. the thing is IF you were trading toews or kane would you be alright with krugr and AA for either of them if the opposite team had krugr and aa?

I respect his integrity. Absolutely. And I have actually communicated with him numerous times through a third party about trade and FA information (truth).

He is not, however, the GM Monitoring Service of the NHL.

JJ,
Would you take that trade if you were Bowman? Being, Malkin for AA and Kruger. It would take more wouldn't it?

- BURDA13

You'd have to think.

JJ thank you for all you do and your insight.

Just my two cents....

As much as it would be interesting to see Malkin in a Hawks jersey next season, I just don't see it happening. It also worries me about what would happen long term. The price? The change in the dressing room? Money for Shaw/Panarin (assuming either aren't traded).

Plus while we may never know (traded or not) why does Malkin want out of Pitt.? If its to be "the man" that wont happen in Chi. If its his family/wife, who's to say after a couple years in Chicago, they want another change.

Overall, I would be excited if it happened, but hope it doesn't.

This is a little ehhhhh cynical? But sure, there's some truth to it as well.

But I will also tell you, when you hear form someone who works with the people involved, who've provided good info may times before, and they have no reason to lie to you, it's just that simple. Especially when it's independently corroborated by two other people on other cities.

Disagree.

He gets better as the deals get closer and he is usually the first one to know about it when it comes out of the fax machine at the league office, for sure.

As far as the more formative, early on stuff, he is not really any better than anyone else.
