Erik Staal's next contract is going to sink his next team. Some offensively starved team is gonna shell out a ~6 mil AAV contract and he's going to continue to decline. I get the feeling Montreal is going to full court press on Staal. - Victoro311
Agree entirely. Staal signing will be interesting in how quickly his team hates his contract. I think the guy is barely a 3 or 4 million dollar player. For 2 or 3 years max. If somebody pays 6 for 5......yikes. |

Its a great day for pgh sports. Pens tonight. NFL draft.
Who yinz think Steelers take? I think Karl Jospeh, safety-WVU or Andrew Billings, nt-Baylor. - joescullz
I feel like Joseph in 1st, Fuller in 2nd....this year seems to be even more of a crapshoot than usual. |

Evegeny Kuznetsov.....drafted six picks AFTER Beau Bennett. - YouMeAndDupuis9
I remember when sweden meet russia is the jr world cup and kuznetsov. the swedish commentators went "not him! ANYBODY BUT HIM!!!!!" when he had a 1v1. how could he be taken so low? he was like the star in the team that got 2nd that year... |

Russian factor. Interestingly though, Tarasenko went 16th that same year.
That said, Kuzzy was a non-factor in the Philly series. Need to see him generate more offense. |

that line of tarasenko - kuzzy - panarin was great. how panarin went undrafted is beyond me. and you have a stud in kuzzy. |

Joseph doesn't seem like good value in the 1st. If he was 100% healthy then maybe. He doesn't have elite measurables like the Apple or Jackson. If they want Joseph I would like to seem them trade down 10-15 picks. An added 3rd provides a lot of value in this draft.
I would love A'Shawn Robinson with that pick if he had a little bit more pass rush in him. |

Trading up for Jaylon Smith - Victoro311
I think teams will respect his insurance deal and wait for the 3rd round on him. Like they did the tackle last year who had a 1st round grade but the sudden murder investigation. They let him go UFA since it was better for him financially even though punting on him in the 6th/7th made a ton of sense.
His draft grade is probably a 3rd rounder anyway because he's looking at a redshirt year and theres some risks he's never the same. So you get a rookie year which few produce and then production. He would be a great 2nd contract guy for the Steelers to take.
I think my ideal draft would be to trade down to early 2nd and pick up a 3rd. Grab Joseph. Use the 2nd on Fuller or another corner. Grab Jaylon in the 3rd then best value with the second 3rd preferebly a DT. |

What about E. Staal? Any signs they will keep him? Do the fans want to keep him at all? - Zac_O
He will probably go back to Carolina so he can tuck Jordan in at night |

Meh, it's nothing special. Her mom grew up in South NJ and her parents moved to Somer's Point (right next to Ocean City) and she was a dealer in A.C. Her dad was working security there and decided he wanted to hit it.
There are parts of South NJ that are super nice, but there's some other sports, especially near where I grew up, that are just short of gang warfare level. Not that I ever had an issue growing up, but literally the other side of the tracks was rough. - jmatchett383
