Goddammit... I mean it's not like Kunitz is irreplaceable at this point but we're so thin at LW. Fehr isn't super effective there and Sundqvist's natural wing is RW I'm pretty sure. If we call up Sprong what I'd do is slot Fehr down with Cullen. Run Cullen-Fehr-Rust and then run Kuhnhackl-Malkin-Sprong. I don't like the idea of putting Malkin with brand spanking new linemates yet again though.

IF Kunitz is definitely out, I would consider it. Need to make sure Geno has a solid defensive player as the other wing. That's asking a lot out of someone like Sprong who has yet to play in this system. But it would be a matter of a warm body who wont lose the game like Sundqvist or Bennett. Or going for someone that can make an impact.

The recent right up Yohe did on the Friday insider said that Bennett is feeling better about himself and doesn't seem as depressed but he still thinks that he can't be physical enough due to apprehension which makes him a liability. That's pretty extreme self awareness from the kid, so I think he knows he's truly not ready.

If Kunitz can't go tomorrow, then maybe they roll:

I know that's 3 centers on one line, but the 4th line got buried last night anyways.Or they can go 11f and 7d in which I'd scratch Maatta. I know that won't happen, but he looks like he's toast.

Utilize speed, get in deep, establish a cycle, and get bodies on Holtby. Eliminate superfluous "cute" plays that lead to turnovers and just get the puck deep. Simple, really. There's no one on the Caps that played last night that left me thinking "man we just don't have an answer for that guy."

I'm probably the biggest Sid fan out there and I do think they created some chances but there were a lot of instances I thought he was either afraid to engage or disinterested last night
