You musta been drunk as (frank). It as a shooting gallery every time the Caps were on the PP. I was on the edge of my seat on every PK. - j.boyd919
Only on the 1st one. The others, they probably had a total of 20 seconds of the PP that they actually got a chance to set up out of each 2 minutes. Every PK after the first one, the Pens played pretty well & on one of them, we actually had the better of play IMO. |

Meh. I've got nothing else better to do at work. Might as well air out opinions that no one reads. It beats playing snake. - Victoro311
I agree with most, except for Ovi being invisible.. I thought he was good last night, he made that subtle little pass to Oshie for the 2nd weak backhand goal (which should have never went in, but still...) And had plenty of shots PP or not, thank god he can't finish on a breakaway.. game could have easily been 5 or 6-3. I saw a lot of outside shots coming from the Pens whereas the Caps seemed to be in Murray's kitchen an awful lot but I thought Murray kept the Pens in the game numerous times with big saves. |

Shooting gallery? Didn't see it that way at all, especially after their first PP.

That last part is huge and what I'm looking for to change tomorrow. We just weren't in Holtby's wheel house and that was because we couldn't establish possession in the O-zone and start a cycle. We wernt playing perimeter hockey because we were unwilling, we were playing that way because we didn't have a choice. When we did finally establish cycles, guys were definitely going to the net. Just gotta be better at getting it in deep. |

Watch this before making such a definitive statement.

I don't think that applies to this goal. I don't think Oshie lifted the puck even a millimeter off the ice on that wrap around which makes the whole thing worse. |

From what I've seen of Schultz I believe it'll take 1 period of playing the Caps before he starts hearing footsteps and starts throwing pucks away. I do think DP is a better fit for this series. A bit stronger and a bit meaner. Maybe I'm wrong but this is the type of hockey that exposes Schultz's physical deficiencies. Right now I just want someone who can skate to play over Olli. Nothing fancy, just not what Maatta has shown us. |

Nahh, you're right, just looked it up, over the last 2 PPs they only had 2 shots. It was just that 1st one that had me thinking they had more. |

Mean is not a word I'd use to describe Pouliot even if I we're talking relative to someone else. Kid plays a very reserved, ceribral brand of hockey. I actually think that his lack of emotion is one of the reasons he can't get on the ice. |

schultz as a penguin has been nothing else than great. nothing like the sitspit that is oilers. I honestly can't understand how the oilers can be such ruiner of talent. |

Personally I'd rather insert DP into the lineup than Schultz. I'd like to see...
Letang-Daley
Dumo-Lovejoy
DP-Cole
I think.. I've just been so unimpressed with Maatta since he's come back from injury. |

Not sure that top pair will make it through this series. Daley and Letang seemed to take a lot of hits last night. |

I do find sometimes I'm so stressed out watching the games it's like I cant remember pieces of them after...like I was blacked out or some poop and I very rarely drink booze watching them. |

I'd insert Schultz and DP for maatta and lovejoy. Then put maatta back in for DP. Lovejoy looked like poop in Nuetral and d zone. His one good play was his goal... |

Like I was worried about I think the Caps are effectively attacking the Cole-Lovejoy pairing. I don't think either played particularly poorly mistakes wise but they were more so getting out classed and their physical limitations exposed. Those two need to be broken up. |

Id be cool with either Pouliot or Schultz coming in for Maata. Absolutely no way do I want to see Daley on the top pairing with Letang though. Crazy enough I'd rather see Cole paired up with Letang as he has been better positionally and he will actually take the body. Outside of one good rush, I thought Daley was bad last night too.
Letang is going to play half the game so you don't even need traditional pairs. Wouldnt mind seeing Cole & Dumolin cycle through with him. I have been very critical of Cole and Lovejoy but they and Letang are the only D that seem willing to take a hit to make a play. That is important this time of year. |

I thought he was mediocre at best. Coach needs to remind him he's best when driving the net and shooting. Not pulling up and looking to pass. 1 shot and -3 from Crosby will get this team eliminated quickly. - madmike71
Agrred. He needs to drive to the net with the puck a touch more instead of pulling up.
Liked his shoot first mentality on the PP tho.
He was inconsequential tonight. |

I dont think you can throw two guys into the fire in the same game. Let one or the other in next game and think about the other. Also, after last nights game I would be putting Daley on the bench over Lovejoy. He might not be the most mobile but he is much better positionally and doesnt avoid contact like Daley. |

At game last night, Ovi kept buzzing Geno on the Pens bench, calling him "Third line pizdá" with that gap-tooth venom typical of Rus on Rus gang vengeance. Keep your head down Pierre, lest someone mistake you for Lenin. |

While Maatta was out, Daley played on the top pairing with Letang.. no? I thought he played pretty well up there. Cole and Letang are a dumpster fire. I want zero part of that. Letang and Dumo is enticing, but I like having them on separate pairings to give the Pens more balance. Daley did have an off night last night but he made a solid play on Ovi on his 1st breakaway preventing him from going to the backhand. |

Maata was brutal last night. I think he needs to take a seat for Shultz. Pens need to split the series going home. I think being down 2-0 would be too much for them to overcome vs the Caps. |
