Caught next to nothing of anything. Looks like the stats are right so far, let's hope the main stat of the Pens winning the series is also right!
Today's result I'm blaming Martox & Forsters beer!
So Martox, (frank) the Sammy routine off & get back to our positive Swede connection, & Forsters.......well there's no fixing that poop, so (frank) Forsters! |

I told people like 4 times that I had a bad day AND it was super late . so was letting of steam. not that I think all of the stuff I said was wrong. I entirely belive Mattaa was the biggest culprit to the loss. even though matt murray had a bad game. also that the whole team was complete garbage in ot - martox
I think we will play better defensively next game. They won by one goal. Oshie had a great game and defensively we didn't cover him well at all. Maata had a lame game again. I mean it is what it is and we can hope for a better outcome next game. |

I wouldn't talk about refs making the right calls with the way the Isles were handed a gift series was over for you if they had made that tripping call - pensfan1979
Over for us? You do realize we had a one game lead in the series at the time right? |

I am 100% sure he is hurt in some way (mattaa that is). there is no way you get that much slower just like that at that age. |

Just saw that grub Wilsons knee on knee! G.R.U.B!!!
I wonder after the Tanger incident, Blackstrom isn't on here wanting Wilson suspended??? Consistency? Trying to end the season of a fellow player is the lowest act on the ice!
(frank)ing disgraceful! |

The call on Lovejoy combined with the no call on Wilson last night was baffling. That should have been a 5 min PP and he had better be suspended for the knee on knee hit on Sheary. The Lovejoy play happens countless times in a game with no call.
When the Pens can't sustain offensive attack for extended periods of time, their D looks lost. Maata is really struggling and I thought Daley was pretty bad as well. Give Maata another game but I would like to see Schultz worked in their somehow. He had been really good for the Pens prior to the playoffs so why not get him in there.
This will be a good series, very entertaining hockey. Last night looked like the Pens will be in a "pick your poison" kind of series. They did a good job limiting Ovie but they gave Oshie all kinds of space. |

I don't know why but something about that game makes me feel OK about this series. There's quite a few positives to be found in that loss. The Pens have only lost like 3 times in the last month and a half and have always been very good in games following loses. I feel like even though the Caps won they should be a bit more concerned than the Pens. The Pens were the better team for the most part. Few blunders by Maatta that led to goals that could of been saved and that was the difference.

Every Caps game I watch, Wilson try's to injure someone. He's literally no different than Matt Cooke. Somebody needs to try to take out Backstrom's knee and let the chips fall where they may. That's the way the NHL wants it. |

Mostly good game. What I took away:
1. I think Maatta's lack of conditioning due to the injuries over the past 2 years was pretty evident. Might be time to give him some rest & get Shultz in there.
2. Murray let in a few soft ones that I know he'd like back.
3. Goofy ending.
4. Pens possessed well & wore the Caps legs down after the 1st. But didn't sustain a lot of zone pressure & never really set up much of a cycle. Need to improve that.
5. Pens need to be better with zone exit. Lots of chip & chase exits & trying to regain control in the NZ or top of the OZ.
6. Pens tried getting a little too fancy on their passing at times. They didn't do a lot of the "play simple hockey" things that have made them super successful recently.
Overall, a lot of good to take out of it. Caps tried to skate with the Pens for the 1st period but were noticeably slower near the end & for the next 40 minutes. Pens can maintain that kind of pace. Caps can't. Pens just came out in OT all kinds of lazy & helter skelter. Fix those little things & this series goes back to Pittsburgh even up. |

Agree. Have always felt this way when we play Washington and numbnuts is playing for them. Have no problem taking out Backstrom and as Wilson is running his mouth and doing his thing in response - say, change your intent to injure play or XXXX is next. Will never happen, but if he goes after another in Game 2, which he will, I would respond by leveling one of their top guys. |

No. Pens cannot afford to get caught up in that poop. They need to keep composure no matter what the Craps are firing at them. |

You'll feel differently after Wilson takes somebody out of the series. Because he will. That's his game.....injuring people. |

Wouldn't mind seeing him carried off on a stretcher. That in itself might make the idiot think. No need for these types of turds in the league. That is his only attribute on the ice. |
