And lovejoy randomly chopping people in the throat is apparently a thing. Did I make 27 comments about it? How about when Malkin threw Wilson down for no reason in the corner? Huh? nothing to say? - Blackstrom2
2 minute penalties were missed on both sides, but missing that knee on knee is pretty absurd considering the location of the hit. doesnt get any more front and center than that.
am i blaming the refs? no. oshie played great tonight and either team deserved to win. sometimes it just doesnt go your way. |

Wilson is a SLUG He will get his too - holeinone
I wanted to trade him in the off-season. But, he's on the team I root for and I can't do much about that. |

Yeah, that was a horrible play by Wilson. But Lovejoy decided to chop Johansson in the throat for no reason on a rush. Pretty egregious, and as potentially dangerous. The refs missed stuff. - Blackstrom2
yeah it wasn't great officiating but it went both ways. game was up for grabs for either team. like i said the talent level is so close that an inch or two each way is going to routinely make the difference. |

But from front left, its clearly in. They do look at more than one angle. - Isles_since_6
you're talking replay. i'm talking ref standing in corner. no way he saw it. thats a bad call on the ice. replay it looks like it is in, but im not sold. if he calls no goal, im not convinced it gets overturned. whatever, we lost and hit a bunch of posts. no call on wilson sucks and then they call lovejoy on a phantom trip a few minutes later. other missed calls both ways for sure, but that no call on wilson is pathetic. get maatta out and lets get ready for game 2. |

no he wont.
the league will not do anything about it. no bias in his favor or anything. the league just doesnt do anything about anyone, until he finally leaves someone with severe life altering injury.
on the ice? for as big of a female genitalia as he is, he is pretty much the biggest, baddest female genitalia on the block. |

i think Pens outplayed them for 45-50 minutes of the game, but once OT hit it was all Caps. |

First it wasn't over the line, now it was over but not two inches. Okay. - Isles_since_6
I never said it wasn't over. I admitted from the start it was over. Although I never refereed hockey I have umpired baseball, you can't call what you don't see. The official had to see it across the line or he can't make the call, it's as simple as that. |

Ya'll realize you scored on an uncalled icing, right? I hate bringing up stuff like thus, but it happens. Hockey is fast. |

yeah. pens had large stretches where they full on dominated. but holtby is able to weather large storms.
obviously, from my point of view the outcome sucks. but it could have gone either way.
it (frank)ing sucks this is not the ECF. you know what will blow? imagine the winner of the islanders/TB series getting to face the winner of this series and the winner is weak, weary, injured, and spent. |

my only issue with it is that the guy that called it did so extremely fast given the likely angle he had. but thats far from an unexpected occurrence. if this happens in period one, no one remembers it in a few minutes. you can't pin the loss on that. especially when the call was ultimately correct.
with the way they were playing in overtime, it was inevitable if they didnt right the ship anyway. |

I absolutely hate Wilson and think it's a matter of time before he ends someone's career. that knee on knee was disgusting and totally in character for him. Should have absolutely been a major. |

So, what's the issue? You're complaining that he missed the call/had no true way of seeing it, so you want the game to have continued, even though you admit that the puck did in fact cross the line. |

Caps had their way in the first period. They could easily have had one or two more. Murray did his job to hold the score down. It is a long way from over. Both teams gave it 100% which made for exciting hockey. Defensive mistakes were made on all six goals and at six more that didn't go in. Looking forward to some more games like this. |

it's a bad call on the ice. no way he saw it. if you think the ref saw it, most won't agree. you're a caps fan so you'll say its a good call. congrats |

As a Penguin fan that is what is most disappointing. No threat at all in OT. The aggression wasn't there. |

I'm not complaining, I am saying the official saw it in, period. I am disagreeing with Pens fans who say otherwise. |

We had 4 less points and no halak for the last month of the season. It's not that big a gap. |

I dont know about others but the point of my argument is that its impossible to determine from that camera angle. I dont know how anyone could argue otherwise. Please enlighten me with how its possible to tell the puck went in. |

i think he couldnt see it. if he called no goal i dont think it gets overturned and you would be here complaining it was in. he called goal and the replay was inconclusive so they stayed with the call on the ice. it's a pretty simple concept. you see white ice, i see a really awkward angle. the only good angle above the goal is obstructed. |

Well, lets start from the referee and the call. Do you think it's possible for the ref to make that call and see it go in? |
