But from front left, its clearly in. They do look at more than one angle.
- Isles_since_6

getting to see the angles. it was in. can't blame it on the refs.

but (frank) the guy who initially called it for essentially blowing his load quicker than a jackrabbit.

maatta was beyond awful. glad we went with dumo and letang but maatta then held daley back. dude isnt right and needs to be sat.
- buckster2342

the Penguins had momentum after Geno's goal and within secondS Maatta gives it right back to the Caps.

Put Schultz in there.

5 minute knee on knee missed and a phantom goal called in OT.

go back to your board and enjoy your win.

The Pens lines were totally screwed up after Kunitz was injured on the bench. The lack of line consistency and chemistry really showed in OT. After outshooting and outposessing them for 2 periods, the Pens looked sloppy and out of sorts right after that happened. That's a hell of a bad break in a playoff OT game. Good lord I hate Washington, but that's the breaks. On to game 2.

Yes it is.

There's no way to confirm that. the height of the ice makes it impossible to make a call that close from that angle.

I'm not blaming anyone here as thats really hard to overturn. But I dont think any of us can say we have proof it was in. There was even less white showing than what is showing in that video.

And lovejoy randomly chopping people in the throat is apparently a thing. Did I make 27 comments about it? How about when Malkin threw Wilson down for no reason in the corner? Huh? nothing to say?

Oh please. The puck was flat on the ice and had 2 inches of white ice between it and the goal line. You have a legit complaint about the missed knee Wilson threw but not about this.

It was a goal and that's what will be in the record books. It sucks, but if roles are reversed, I want it called a goal just the same.

Right. No way he could've made it, even though he was standing right there, honed in and delayed in raising his arm to call the goal..meaning he was obviously waiting to see something.
- Blackstrom2

Officials are permitted to make assumptions but it has to be clear that the assumption they make is the proper call. This situation in no way can be made by assumption though. Therefore he makes the call with 100% certainty that he saw it cross the line. No problem, the proper call was made and it was upheld by video replay.

The missed knee on knee was by far the most egregious missed call. There's no debate.

I wouldn't talk about refs making the right calls with the way the Isles were handed a gift series was over for you if they had made that tripping call

I would agree. Dirty as hell and 5 and a game should have been the call. Extremely dangerous and completely unnecessary. That's Wilson though. He does intentionally try to hurt people.

I wasn't aware you could lose game six up 3-2 and immediately lose the series. You guys have some different rules.

Yeah, that was a horrible play by Wilson. But Lovejoy decided to chop Johansson in the throat for no reason on a rush. Pretty egregious, and as potentially dangerous. The refs missed stuff.

I choose to believe science over hockeybuzz slums. Theres no way the refs could overturn it but theres also no way any of us can confirm that it was in.

Video replay didn't back up anything... they said the call on the ice was what they went with.... anyway onto game 2... no biggie

He only gets suspended if he didn't come back to the game.
