looked like he hurt himself a little when he went splits to save that ovie chance. - martox
now that i'll believe. which again, was a (frank)ing great save at a HUGE moment. murray played well enough for the team to win overall. |

yeah. i dont know if somethings up with him. but hes becoming a scuderi level issue.
(frank) this sucks. only game one. but man they let one get away from them here. and this isnt a washington team of the past. you cant get down 3 1 and think youre winning the series. |

if mattaa plays like he did today. no matter how good goalie you have you will not win. - martox
So its one out of 6 d-mens fault instead of the one goalie that gave up some weak goals? Denial is ugly. |

Embarrassing effort in OT. Embarrassing effort by the captain all game. Sorry Sid, but WTF? |
|
|
|
He had to see it, no way a ref at any level calls something he doesn't see.
Pens in five, you gotta keep the faith. - Thunderbolt
i have faith. how many posts did we hit? make the adjustments, remove maatta, and game 2 is ours. i just dont know how the ref makes that call thru the post. the puck barely crossed if it crossed at all, and theres no way he clearly saw it. he called goal so it stands. if he calls no goal i dont think they overturn it. |

You could see white ice between the puck and the line. It's pretty obvious it actually was a goal, despite whatever you were watching. - Isles_since_6
Yeah I knew it was a goal as soon as I could see the white...any other game it would be inconclusive but it's the Stanley Cup playoffs and they need to make the right call and unfortunately it was the right call Damn you Oshie seen the wrap coming a mile away Murray learned his lesson I bet go get the next one! |
|
|
|
so what? where was the person that is supposed to cover oshie? where was the defensemen that is supposed to make sure poop like that don't happen infront of the goalie? - martox
Relax dude, I'm not saying take Murray out and bench him. He let in 2 goals that should be routine saves. He also made some great saves, but sometimes the defense collapses and he needs to make those saves. The kid is still learning every game, so he'll learn and be better.
But Maatta...woof |

1 shot and a -3. Pretty $hit showing for sure. That line was pretty invisible. |

Except there was clearly white between the puck and the red line. |

Id imagine a professional goalie would be able to see it if I could. Oshie didn't slow down at all going behind the net. Kinda makes it clear hes not cutting back again.
Im not even poopting on Murray. Im just saying he'll have to do better if the pens want a chance to win 4 games. - Zac_O
Oh I definitely agree with you. With Murray's length I thought he would get over way in time. It was the only play Oshie could do and he did it yet Murray was slow. |

From the front you can see that for sure. The ref who called goal was on the goal line, no way he has that view. It was the right call but no way he could've made it. |

from an awkward angle. same as the wild/stars replay. from up top u lose the puck and it never clearly crosses. no way u can overturn it either way. call on the ice was going to stand. |

murray didn't have one of his best games no but 2 of those huge chances that led to goals wouldn't even been chances if mattaa could just skate this game ATLEAST average. so ye sadly mattaa is the biggest reason why we lost this game. sure we could have played better as a team and murray could have played a little better. but mattaa play unforgivably bad and I say that as a person that really really like mattaa as a hockey player. |

Exactly. It was in, regardless of what the refs initially called it. Entertaining game to watch anyhow. |

I just keep waiting for maatta to take off his skate weights and start flying around the rink. |

Right. No way he could've made it, even though he was standing right there, honed in and delayed in raising his arm to call the goal..meaning he was obviously waiting to see something. |

But from front left, its clearly in. They do look at more than one angle. |
