His kids probably care, especially since he's driving em to Disney. Once they get there though, all bets are off.

BSchenn + Streit for Shattenkirk would be my offer if he was really on the table. St Louis get a young 45 point forward and an old 50 point dman who can help them win a playoff round or two before the GM gets fired.

I would definitely not trade Simmonds + Ghost + 1st for him, and then be stuck trying to deal Streit to a contender for a pick and a prospect. There's not that many contending teams with the cap room and the assets to spare right now.

I was thinking something very similar. STL is in a win now mode. It wold make sense that Streit who had better offensive numbers then Shattenkirk would be a central part of the deal so they don't lose his production. Not sure just BSchenn makes it happen after that but something along those lines is a good start.

if Streit is the key piece to get Shattenkirk then I will send champagne to Hexy.....chances of this happening are as good as Vinny terminating

Oh, FWIW, the name I suggested as a "throw in" is actually a pretty talented young prospect winger, who scored 13 goals in 54 games with the Blues as a rookie.

Reminds me of when rumors leaked of the Flyers trading Carter for a package of Voracek and picks was trashed as "not enough"...that tune changed soon enough-and unsurprisingly so.

I'm probably more ok with your package than most. The reality is that with Konecny also likely playing on the right side and Aube-Kubel looking good, the Flyers are loaded on the right side. I think Konecny would be a natural fit with Couturier, bringing speed and creativity to his line.

And I think B Schenn has more upside than Simmonds and can fill a similar role on the pp. And who knows, maybe Gagner received his wakeup call and provides another long-term option on the right.

I'd love the deal if Jaskin played on the left. But he may be a more physical version of Simmonds anyway, so I'd consider it.

I agree with you there. Of course a 26 year old top pair defenseman generally has more value than a 28 year old forward who has come up small the last couple of playoffs...especially when the D man has two more reasonably priced seasons on his deal and the winger is a pending FA

Shattenkirk and Oshie both have 2 years left, at almost the exact same cap hit.
