Radovan Bondra NO ...not Bondra;s son.
6 ' 5 210
http://www.draftsite.com/...yer/radovan-bondra/21629/
A member of his homeland’s team roster for the World Junior Under-20 at Christmas 2014. Displays decent feet but needs improved acceleration and more intensity to his play. Excellent tools, yet no toolbox.
From ProProspects:
A hulking power winger that plays a skill game, Bondra is a shifty skater blessed with predatory offensive instincts and a nose for the net. Good puck-handling ability; protects the puck exceptionally well with his size. Could be more physical, but that will come. All-in-all, a talented scorer that can be very difficult for the opposition to contain. (Curtis Joe, EP 2014) - See more at: http://www.eliteprospects...7407#sthash.6nN6gWHF.dpuf |

Hockeyscap says Hawks have cap space of $5.6MM to the cap - and if they can be 10% over (that's my may-be-wrong understanding), they should have plenty of room to sign Saad and Kruger. - StLBravesFan
Agreed. But they don't want to sign them until they move out Sharp and Bickell

my concern over the proposition of holding on to serve until after initial free agent Frenzy passes I don't think the Hawks have the cap space or tagging room to qualify Kruger or Saad that could make it a repeat of 2010 where it is pick one or the other. at times I wish our GM was a little more aggressive to maximize return on assets as opposed to holding his hand so long that he has to take the best of the rest - ikeane
If I remember right teams can go over 10% of salary cap in off season? So even if anyone isn´t traded Blackhawks can keep both of Saad and Kruger. |

I thought I remember seeing an interview with Stan this morning where he said everyone was extended qualifying offers, except a couple guys in Rockford that they had to make decisions on still. |

Wow people really need to have some faith in Stan. Im not a koolaid drinker but really have to give the guy some credit as to that he knows what he's doing. For years we had to listen to how it was dale's cup in 2010 and to an extent 2013, but 2015 is all Stan. IMO. just as 2016 or 2017 will be all him. Time and patience is what is needed when your not dealing from a position of strenght. i think the return for Sharp and whomever else he decides to move will be what the Hawks really need CAP space. Anything else is gravy. |

I wonder how much of a factor was the interest to send Sharpie to a good team, as a gesture of respect for all that he's done for this team. (Maybe to some extent, Crow, Bickell, and Versteeg, as well?)
That's an important thing, IMO... Other players will more want to come here, if they see a kind of respect here for players that may be uncommon.
I'm just as disappointed at the inactivity as anyone (and gotta step away from my computer after all these days glued to it), but can't help but wonder about this. - Fergie
- The Hawks would have had a series of teams potentially that had a framework of a deal completed, where they went to Sharp and asked him: "Would you approve a trade to x,y,z team". Very little to do with making certain he was sent to a winning team because, ultimately, he gets to say yay or nay.
- The Hawks will have VERY little, if any, problem in recruiting key vets to come and play here, in this system, with the nucleus still here from 3 Cup wins in 6 seasons. |

Well a couple years back Saad fell to the Hawks in the second round and Hawks jumped on it, as they did not worry why other teams passed. This year When Oliver Kylington was still there at 54 and Hawks passed I was not happy. This was a guy that was a possible top 5 pick 18 months ago. Why not take a gamble at 54 and get 1st round talent in round 2. - mvp0207
This is something that surprised me. Stan has had 2 serious draft successes with players who have dropped (TT and Saad). Thought he would play that same formula with OK.
We got the Trader Vick version of Stan at the TDL. Not his MO. I do think this was a loss - not getting picks back in this draft BUT this is not over. See what he gets when the players go.
Question: Can the Hawks even qualify Saad without making space? If they need the space is the deadline 7/1?
Edit: question covered above. Thx. |

Tred: honest question here....
Don't you think he's figured this out and determined what they do/don't have to do in order to quality Saad? That he's not sleeping behind the wheel and a "whoops!" moment will happen? |

Desjardin played a role this year
As far as the farm. Saad was drafted late, Krueger, TT drafted at 16 looks like the real deal, shaw (was this bowman) this team still is ranked top 7 for prospects even after the success the last 6 years. Theres something to say about that. - mvp0207
True, and he does deserve credit there.
I just feel that he needs to be more aggressive. Over the years, I believe it's safe to say that Stan and Co. aren't not know for being ballsy. The rest of the league is trying to catch up to them, and at some point he needs to roll the dice and deal a prospect or two , or make an unpopular move.
He gets credit for taking guys who fell, whether or not it was somewhat fortunate, he/they ultimately did wind up drafting the player, regardless of the round.
Their core has a lot of miles on them. Very happy miles from my perspective, but still, they have to prepare for that and start acquiring the future core members. |

he should have asked the fired pen coach what its like to coach a team with 2 mega stars who eat 25-30% of your cap space... |

I fully enjoy the 3 cups we have under various GM's but Kane's injury saved Stan's bum this year and gave him a second shot at picking up pieces/adding salary. In my opinion, the Hawks don't win without the new pieces. He needs to stop being butt-tight about trades & pickups. - JGould70[/quote]
Which Stan obviously took full advantage of... even with the Timmo overpay they won the cup. Results prove success.
Not like the Wings make a lot of trades... that is the model here. More accurately though it is the Bowman model. Really thought their goal would be to replace those picks. He deserves some criticism for the Leddy wait - though Pokka may salvage the return some. He may deserve some criticism for not learning from that mistake but we haven't seen the returns yet so let's wait and see. |

Who exactly are they going to trade, this offseason, that will net them a potential "core" player? I'm curious.
Trading two picks for Kimmo wasn't aggressive? The Oduya trade wasn't aggressive? Vermette... wasn't aggressive? Taking TT & Saad when other teams were passing... wasn't aggressive?
Correction: He gets credit for taking the players that other organizations passed on and he took a risk taking. If both Saad and TT didn't turn out to be who they are, he would have gotten blasted for taking two players the organizations were passing on.
Not trying to be a bag here buddy.... |

Great point. They obviously do. Stan has a good hand and he is holding it. Some teams will miss out on free agents like Williams and Beleskey.... Renewed demand then? |
