From Friedman...
11. In the Stanley Cup celebration, Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman jubilantly told Brent Seabrook he wasn’t going anywhere. All of the attention is on Marcus Kruger, Brandon Saad and Patrick Sharp. But Bowman is well-aware of Seabrook, who can be a UFA next summer. The two sides have talked and don’t be surprised if Chicago makes this a big priority in the next few weeks.

Good morning all.
So, do we have a consensus on our GM yet? It seems we have several option available.
1. Have a little faith and trust him going forward.
2. Be concerned that this summers "issues" will result in the Hawks being fleeced.
3. SB is lousy at his job and should be beaten with blackjacks and fired. (not necessarily in that order)
4. SB is a disgrace and should get the "Mussolini Treatment".
Did I miss anything? |

Who me? I'm not worried about anything regarding the Hawks.
I was being facetious regarding opinions of SB after this years draft. |

I guess I was wrong: we can't criticize Stan - we must trust without questioning, because - well - we don't know.
Lots of people saying so.
I'll have to remember that. - StLBravesFan
Where did I say that? Go ahead and criticize him for the things he's done.
But if you criticize him for the things he is doing or hasn't done yet, you're doing so out of emotion or speculation, neither of which has logical factual basis. Unless you have information from all parties involved (Blackhawks org, Toronto, Montreal, Dallas or whoever is really involved orgs), then any criticism of inaction or indecisiveness or overvaluing players or not properly timing the market to obtain maximum value, is completely unfounded. |

I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Mike Richards if you could get him for 6 figures. Still young enough to get physically fit again, and he's always had pretty good hockey sense and a solid work ethic (Dry Island notwithstanding). |

That penalty could cause them to have to choose between Lucic and Kopitar. Lucic looks like a rental only for them. If Dustin Brown keeps regressing - signed thru 22...
And we're worried about Bickell's 2 years and Hossa's 6... |

Rather see Upshall or Gagne (if he is bought out).... Richards refused to train in LA and was even struggling in the AHL. He has really, really lost a step. Could be a Stoll like issue for him. I could see him getting a chance to rehab his image but it would have to be a very low $$ amount to take the risk IMO. |

For some on this board, still a great deal for the Kings, because Cup baby.
Long term contracts can come back and bite you. Hope all ends well for the hawks. |

That Mike Richards deal is absolutely ridiculous...something truly special.
LA better hope that Jeff Carter's production doesn't vanish as well. Can you just imagine if LA had to buy out Carter as well? His contract is thru 2022 |

for Bickel to get a contract like that, do you think SB thought he was part of the core. couldn't jimmy hayes been a cheaper option? or just cheaper options. |

Kypreos is speculating that the space could be used for a run on Belesky. Not sure that's a better fit for them than Sharp since they are supposedly after scoring. But then again, what the heck do I know...
@RealKyper: With Parenteau soon to be off books some suggest this will open room for #Canadiens to take a good run at #UFA Beleskey
And this from Lazarus:
@MarkLazerus: Again, though, the sense among #Blackhawks sources and league sources is that Stan Bowman does not feel too much urgency. He'll be patient.
@MarkLazerus: That doesn't mean Sharp and Bickell deals won't happen soon. It just means Bowman is willing to wait for the right offer to come along. |

All speculative terms.
An example of a statement of fact would be something like "An example of a statement of fact would be something like "You're a sycophantic ass kisser here to pick fights for your buddies in blacklistville.". Speculative but stated as fact. That would be wrong. |

I'm not sure what he was thinking...perhaps.
I don't recall comments SB made at that time suggesting Bicks was part of the core. Jimmy Hayes or Bicks? Probably a wash in hindsight...they both have their flaws.
I'll leave that assessment to others. |
