Just for the record, Sabers have $27 mill in cap space.

Dustin Brown would have been a nice add in 2010. He's getting to be pretty worthless.

I don't care how much they have now. Giving out huge crazy contracts or trading for guys that aren't worth the huge crazy contracts they already have is a terrible idea.

Marcus Foligno is entering the final yr of his contract, could he become trade bait?

Perhaps Marcus & the NYI pick to Col for Ryan O'Riley?

Tho I have heard TM comment on Marcu's "leadership" which makes me think he's our future 4th line center.

They're more interested in defensive help, top 4 lefty i believe.

Not sure we have anything to offer, if he becomes available someone will probably beat us.

Leafs are possible.

I still think they find a way to re-sign him.

O'Riley has been at odds with the avs organization for about 4 years now.

I bet they trade him as opposed to risk losing him via UFA.

They're up against the cap too, and McKinnon's gonna need to be paid.

Maybe they'd trade him to Boston? That'd be a nice fit, alongside Bergeron.

I've always said Ward is over rated. Never been a fan of his.
- HonkFortheGoose

He (frank)ing sucks. Carolina got lucky because we were icing a bunch of AHLers that season and then they ran Roloson against Edmonton all but assuring a cup win. That was a dirty (frank)ing team that year.

TM likes big-bodied goalie anyway...

That's why Enroth (who would actually make an awsome "value" UFA signing) won't be entertained.

3 years @ 1.75 mill/yr for Enroth..?

I could live with that. The kid played well, he's hungry.

Because at some point guys like Girgensons, Reinhart, Risto, etc are going to get nice pay increases. No point in handcuffing ourselves in the future juse because there's plenty of space this year.
- HonkFortheGoose

Forward thinking.

I like Gibson as well.
Also big on Bernier. And I think Vasilevskiy is gonna be REALLY good too.
Most ppl already know Allen is gonna be good, but idk if he'll be available. Maybe he will be since they lost 1st round again.
Hitch should've started Elliot. Bad move IMO

If we traded for a guy like Gibson, I'm ok with him as our 2nd goalie

Why would you trade for a second goalie?
I thought we have too many second goalies on this roster already.
We need a starter.

What the hell are u talking about?
1) almost all starting goalies are backup first when they're young and just enter the league
2) a guy like Vasilevskiy is much more likely to be available then Bishop
3) a young goalie will cost less against the cap
4) he can grow with the team into a #1
5) many of the guys we've mentioned are just as good as UFA options, with the potential to be even better
6) and the only goalie we have signed is Johnson, so idk where u think we have multiple goalies?

What would u have us do in net?

Grrr more goalie talk. Hard to say if its the goalie or the system in front.

Just throwing this out there cam talbot has better numbers than henrik lundquist for the nyr.

And eapecially since miller has been gone.

Every goalie has a few highlight reel saves. Every goalie lets in a few soft ones. The only way to judge goalies is on breakaways.

Rangers fans think talbot would get 21+ Because of the schneider trade. No assets for goalies. Certainly not 21 or 31. Rather just sign niemi or something. [/img]

Just grab any one of Ottawa's 3 goalies...

No way they keep all 3. itd be a waste to bury one of them on the depth chart.
