Yes, we'd seen a lot of games over the last couple of seasons, where the Leafs played when they wanted to, floating around and losing games out of what I think was complacency. Reminds me of the "Blue and white disease" Brian Burke referred to when he became GM. Only it came back after he left.
Now that we know Kessel, Lupul, Phaneuf, Bozak and Polak are still there, knowing Leafs ownership and management want them gone, is it a possibility those players will want to stick it to MLSE by playing harder than usual, and winning those games we should be losing to get a top draft pick?
The Leafs do stink now, but remember they also had stretches over the last three years where they beat a lot of good teams. The team has been depleted of a number of some roster players, who were traded. I don't think enough gone, where they still can't pull out enough wins to not net us a top 3-5 pick however.
