Would be surprised if the jets wanted gardiner? They have depth at d, and already have enough offensive d so no need for another one plus I don't see a big difference between gardiner and postma. I'd prefer a bogo JVR swap

I don't see the see leafs making trades of any significance for a while:

1) I think Shanny is keeping nonis around only to process paperwork on a couple ufa trades at the deadline. nonis will likely be gone shortly after that.

2) nobody will offer anything good for the leafs high$ / long-term contracts; especially the way the CAD$ continues to sink.

I only see franson, winnik and santorelli having that value ... for some less than stellar picks/prospects.

in all likelihood the leafs will bounce back after the all-star break; probably won't be sellers and just fall short of the playoffs.

they are in the middle of a road heavy schedule and will continue to get pasted until the all-star break.

the remainder of the season is balanced; they'll win some and lose some.

this is not a bottom 5 team as much as it is not a top 16 team.

it's the worst kind of team - mediocre.

But seriously. How old is Marleau. For how long has he been "coming" to Toronto? That ship has sailed. He won't help. I can't see the Sharks having him as a throw in to get a player that will help in the long run. Be nice. They need to try their best to find suitors for #3 and Kessel. It hurts to say Kessel. (frank) I don't want him to leave.
