Just the whole "winning the trade" mentality. It's a losers mentality and usually celebrated by fans of losing teams. Just don't like it. - glove_was_stuck

If you've followed hockey since the original six you'll know they've been in much much lower places than they are right now. They've stunk it up for years and years, this shouldn't surprise anyone. Until they learn to draft and build a team, this will continue. - LeftCoaster
They have been drafting proper for a few years now we got a few future nhlers in the works but the core will be all to old when they are rdy to be good |

Hard to grab a guy that would fit for them to unless you give ward a go but that's risky and big cap - jake24242
after the miller experiment I dont know if they go with the big goalie trade again. And now that the signed Brodeur, I cant see them really going to grab another guy. |

Beating the best teams in the league really doesn't mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. The Oilers have beaten MTL, TBL, NYI, NYR, and LAK. Big whoop. - eichiefs9
It proves they are capable of winning and holding a lead actually.
They have gone a long stretches of winning, which is why I wouldn't suggest blowing it completely up.
Are there problems? Yes.
Leadership and character... Let's hope they fix those by getting rid of players who don't bring 100% every night.
I wouldn't blow up the Oilers either by the way... Maybe get a goalie and some D though maybe! |

not being able to beat the teams you're supposed to shows a lack of professionalism. It's easy to get up for big games, preparing yourself for every game is the tough part and it is what usually separates the good teams from the really good teams. |

What this team is lacking is true heart. We haven't had a player with heart and dedication since the days of Clark, Robertson, and heck even Tucker. Players like that put their entire life, blood, sweat, soul and heart into every minute they played, and were the epitome of "giving 150%" in playoffs.
We have not had a player like that in years. With players like that comes leadership, with leadership comes comradery and ALL players giving their all.
Find players like that again and you will see this current mess of a team begin to disappear. |

I think more of that has to do with the Petro Jay-Bo pairing not being as lights out as they were last season. Decent seasons but not as dominate as they were before. Jay-bo injury didnt help the situation
I think those guys take it into another gear sooner or later |

Just what the Leafs need... another big money guy who when the going gets tough, goes golfing.
Although it's probably only got a .05 percent chance of happening since this is the first place I've seen it. |

Unless a d-man comes with Marleau I don't see Yzerman making that move. Personally I think re-signing Calahan killed any chance of Marleau to Tampa and my guess is he was only "interested" as a back-up plan if Calahan were to leave this past offseason. Our biggest hole is on D right right now so unless Marleau is moved on the cheap due to his NTC clause I don't see this happening. |

What would be a reasonable trade for Phaneuf... I dont necessarily love his contract or play this year but he is a legit pairing dman which we have lacked for years... |
