Ha I'm curious to see how many switch positions today after reading this one. I mentioned it yesterday and was taken to task. Sutter is a god was the most common response. My deal didn't even include Maatta so I can't imagine what's going to go down here.

Yeah let's stack our top 2 lines and leave the bottom 6 full of ahl journeyman, adams, sill and goc.

I'm sure trading away one of if not the best 3c, that also can play 2nd, olli maatta and our first round pick is exactly what this team needs.

Having 2 lines really helped our team the past few years

By the way, Maatta is having a second opinion on his shoulder, I'm sure EDM would love to trade for a guy who is most likely out the rest of the year.

This is what HB has turned into. All cause of freaking Dreger

So hurry with all your proposals of unproven talent/prospects. It's what the Oilers need apparently

don't forget Downie and Spaling and Klinkhammer Bennett. Seems much better then the depth we had last year in the bottom 6.

It's not the most exciting package but the value is there. I'm sure you might find a team offering something you'd like more but Maatta, Sutter, Harrington and a 1st is a lot

I don't think we have the pieces to pull off that type of trade. If I am Edmonton I am looking directly at Arizona. OEL, their first (which should be high) and another piece (say Chipchura) for Hall and Petry. I think that is the type of deal it would take.
Weber? With the rise of Jones and Josi I can see that.

This

The price is too high. Maatta should not be considered. Hall is a true talent, but isn't even the top player on their team.

WHo would you consider the top player on the Oilers?

Oilers need a 1D/2C/1G
Maata is top 4 and has a great future ahead (Oilers would probably ruin the guy)
Sutter is a 2/3C
Harrington is a LHD prospect. Oilers already have lots of these (Marincin, Nurse, Klefbom being the most ready impact players)
20+ 1st rounder

I think it'd be better to see Maata + Sutter + Sundqvist + ?? + 1st

It's essentially Maatta for Hall. Yikes!

Sutter - Checking Centre that doesn't put up points. I'd give you Purcell for him

Harrington - He was good in Junior right?

The 1st means nothing really.

I'm in for Taylor Hall... We've all clamored for a young top end wing for the Pens for years, and he would be it.

I'd be fine sending Maatta in the deal, and if it's done in the off-season, Sutter is fine to go too.

It's funny, if we also send a Harrington/Dumoulin, we would have just went from years of a deep pool of defensive prospects, to a very shallow one.

We'd have Pouliot and whomever is left from Harrington/Dumoulin, with nothing else behind them. If we didn't send our 1st round pick away, we'd have to look at drafting a defensemen again in the first round.

If we give up our 1st round pick in the deal, I'd want Edmonton's 2nd round pick back, because it would likely only be a handful of picks after our 1st.

Then CERTAINLY pass. You over value (as all fanbases do) your player.

Not a bad thing. It would all come down to the package being exchanged.

And you, along with all others, try to send garbage for top talent.

Probably be smart to let these guys go at it themselves.
