FunnyI was telling a few leafers I'm related to (just 3 days ago).... they need to blow it up. Leaf fans will put up with a proper rebuild if it means they tank and get atleast 1-3 star players. In the meantime do what edm hasn't been doing (rebuild the sh** out of your farm team) by scouting and stock piling draft picks. A retool for this team would be easier, and more useful, than a complete rebuild

This in a sense was their rebuild, And it failed miserably. Ever since Sundin left the leafs have been in disarray.

Im torn between who needs to blow it all up more. The Oil, or the leafs. But I do know who has worse contracts and worse leaders **Cough** Phanuef **Cough**

Toronto needs to make huge changes. Its no longer funny. Its simply sad.

If anyone should be benched to send a message...bench Phaneuf. For a few games.
- Colin_Dambrauskas

Bench them both..this team needs accountability. Away from the puck, these two are by far the worst on the team. This team needs a leader who is willing to do what it takes to win.

I would take a rebuilding team focused around McDavid (if the leafs bottom out and then win the lottery) than this team any day. At least they'd have a top centre, which IMO is the toughest position to fill.

Mcdavid on an unsuccessful maple leafs team would be an utter disaster.

Not saying that would be the outcome. But if it actually happened. My goodness. The hit man business in Toronto will sky rocket.

A Toronto reporter named Mike Zeisberger actuallyhad the audacity to basically mock the fact Phil Kessel spoke to the media after the game on Twitter. Glen Healy is still under the assumption he was qualified to be the Leafs GM all those years ago and had to go on to become a mediocre NHL analyst. Kessel cannot win with these bunch of yahoos, and that $100 bill analogy was right on point. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Blow the thing up. Period.

Toronto 10 - 2 Boston. January 7th 2007 if I recall.

That's the last one I remember

- lumlums

Buffalo 10 @ Edmonton 2 - January 27, 2009!!

I remember chanting we want 10 during that game.

Glen Healy is far from mediocre. He wishes he was mediocre.

"But the Leafs have something going for them. Something everyone else wants. They have defensive depth."

Aren't they near the bottom of the league in GAA?

I don't think it matters what they do, to me they don't have enough depth throughout the lineup.

And the fans are incredibly hard to please in TO!!

The Leafs have something everybody wants...defensive depth? Is that why they give up 40 shots a game?

You are right about the depth, but as far as Leaf fans being hard to please.
Sad to say, they are some of the most loyal fans in sport who have put up with so much mediocrity and always come back for more.

They $upport their team and then get disappointment. Hard to please? No, just making the playoffs more often would please them to start.

Nonis wont do a thing. He stands there and preaches patience, but in reality he is a deer in headlights.

We saw the exact same thing in Vancouver.
