Totally understand Karmo's standpoint, (on a bridge for Johansen), but I wonder if the contracts Toews, & Kane signed change that landscape somewhat?
20 goal, 50 point, scorers are getting $4-$5 million a year now, seems the "bridge" contract could be going out with the old salary structure system, (after the lockout). |

Wasn't Horton playing with Krejci when he was with the Bruins? That may have helped his shooting percentage....
But yes, he should have a better season this year. |

His shooting percentage was annually 10-13 for, like, six years straight, several of which were with Florida. |

Wonder how Florida would look if they had kept most of the players they traded in the last 5 years or so.
Bryan Allen, Chris Higgins, Frolik, Keith Ballard, Gregory Campbell, Nathan Horton, Denis Wideman, Dennis Seidenberg, Jordan Leopold, Jay Bowmeester, Dominic Moore, Marcel Goc.
Not a bunch of world beaters, but theres some good pieces there that had they kept them, they could be in a much different situation now. |

They would probably look like the Panthers of 5 years ago...Not very good.
They also might not have been bad enough to get Ekblad, Huberdeau or Barkov
People make fun of FLA because of a basically non-existing fan base but they have slowly built a great young core |

If you factor in his entire NHL career, he's scored at a 10% clip. 8-10% is probably a better indicator of future success than the 13% rate he scored at last season, so if his 5v5 shot totals don't go up it's probably unrealistic to expect 20+ goals from him in that situation. He's a very good player, obviously, and more volume in shots could keep his totals (20 5v5 goals, 30+ overall) from regressing, but it's definitely something to watch going forward.
I think your wrong. The kid is only 22 yrs old. I think what he did last year as far as shots/goals are an indication of whats to come. I don't see him going down. |

the reason he should sign a bridge , he must prove he's not a one year wonder. |
