It ain't so easy, its also not gonna happen. I wish all the Kane talk would give it a break. Chevy and Chipman realize one trade ain't gonna put them in the playoffs in an impossible division, coming up to an incredibly deep draft.
Kane stays. Mark my words. |

The Devil might just be Kane. Which team covets a devil or two on the roster? |

Kane's not going anywhere. Because if he did, it'd mean that Winnipeg's front office actually did something noteworthy. And why on Earth would they want to do that? |

Then you would have 6 players over the next 5 years at 42 mil. |

Although his offer will never happen it technically helps Chicago cap wise. |

Chi need to lose a big contract and not take on any big ones back r the rest of the team will be 4 th liners |

I agree but that trade would reduce the team cap by 5m and leave approx 3m to sign say Del Zotto and Setoguchi. |

How about a talented young forward with a long-term contract? Oh wait, that's what they'd be giving away with Kane and no team is going to give that up in return. |

They have the potential to drop a perceived bad apple, add some assets and go into the year thinking deep draft. The Peg needs a potential draft day stud more than an (almost)60 point Prima Dona.
Problem is a trade would probably shake him up a bit and light a fire under him. It will look bad until you have a top 5 pick next off season. |

It would free up 5.35 in cap space. Rozy, oduya, versteeg, Richards will be gone next year and that would also clear up almost 14 mil. Even with batman and robins raises next year they could take on E Kane's contract and resign saad. Add in the cap will rise at least 5 mil and the hawks have in house replacements that aren't 4th liners. |

Simply by reputation alone the makings of a trade involving Kane is tough, now add the variable of finding a fair price/return for what some may believe to be a high risk.
Peter Tessier
Chevy's not looking for a "fair price/return". He's looking to win the trade like all GMs do now. It's self-preservation.
Other GMs will want to take advantage of Chevy because of Kane's supposed bad reputation. Saying it reduces his value. Bullpoop.
Unfortunately for the Jets, good hockey deals will be ignored to appease fans and the owner. That's why this will turn out badly for the Jets. |

Have long thought that Ottawa is the team with the assets and desire to get a deal done. Kane is that elusive "hard" player that Murray says he wants to acquire. Kane would be a great fit on a line with Zibanejad.
