Been told he's already pretty good friends with Subban.

Same problem as using Patches as the starting point. Kane would fill a top line LW need but then we'd need a top line RW.

Plus Okposo is part of this core and is probably never going anywhere.

- eichiefs9

I think this is the problem facing all GMs. You never get to acquire a piece you absolutely need for a piece you can get rid of.

Most trades would involve secondary trades or having prospects ready to step in right away.

Yeah. I get it. It's going to be one helluva trade to make. The Jets supposedly want a top 6 player in return. I'm not sure if that will happen, the Jets might be forced into taking a 1st and a prospect.

Kane to the Preds for Wilson, 1st, and maybe a prospect.
- Freeze33

....but, but, the Preds are not even part of this rumor!

I think the Isles have a lot of pieces that could be valuable to the Jets. No first rounder next year, but good young players and good prospects.

I could see a guy like Anders Lee being moved, which would fill the hole on wing with a big, strong, pure goal-scoring forward. Pokka is a pretty highly touted defensive prospect, he's right there on our depth chart behind Reinhart and Pulock.

I know they're not the big names and that makes most people shoot it down immediately but I'm trying to be as objective as possible.

You could have Grabner too likely. I'd say Bailey, but I don't think he has a ton of value.

I like that Anders Lee, from just the bit of I saw of him last year. Grabner wouldn't be bad either.

Yeah man. You're right. I could be under valuing him because I hear this Kane crap all the time. Seriously, its not just @ hockeybuzz... its non-stop with the media here in the Peg.

Well Drouin is considered one of the best prospects of the decade and will play in the nhl this year. Not a stretch to think he'll outscore Kane as well. So ya I wouldn't trade Drouin for him either. Not to mention Drouin is cheaper and younger and further from ufa
- jbs32

Yea, that's why he wasn't even taken 1st in his draft class . i do like him though, I think he will be a star player for sure. Especially if he plays most of his career with Stamkos.

It's so hard to put value on him. He's only 22 so his potential could be much higher, but at the same time, he's played 5 seasons already.

Well, considering the first pick was MacKinnon....

Most team would have went with Barkov 2nd due to his 4" height advantage over Drouin....

Maybe because of his height, Droiun's puck control is (frank)ing amazing though. That kids hands are something else.

Also, what i'm getting at is MacKinnon is the better prospect, so basically he's saying that Drouin and MacKinnon are the best prospects of the decade.

How about this.

Coburn, B. Schenn, Vinny and a 2nd for Kane.

Actually he's right. A top 10 defensive center in the league and a young kid who was calder nominee 1 year ago and brings a lot to the team. You need players like that to actually win a cup.

But let's be honest, I wouldn't think that you'd know that with the oilers
