Barnaby called that Nolan would be leaving with LaFontaine, so he knows something...wait, nevermind.

The team looks pretty light.

Yeah, Hodgson is the only forward signed beyond the 2014-15 season. Scary and exciting at the same time.

It's bed time over on this side of the world. Guess I'll wake up to see Reinhart in a Sabres jersey.
Enjoy the draft everyone.

yes I am

black hawks are going the penguin way
playing guys like regin, handzus and bolling to round out their team

the versteeg trade backfired

look at where the hawks were a few years ago and look how thin the bottom half of their roster is now

the kings on the other hand, iced a much better bottom half of the roster this post season

- homiedclown

Agreed. Me, you and a few others have argued for a while that the bottom 6 is incredibly important when trying to win

Toews and Kane don't seem to care about cups now . Just the cash . I guess 2 is enough.

But to say the Hawks lack depth and have no plan? I dunno. They get one bounce in OT and we are talking about back to back cups. It wasn't as if they were completely dominated. These guys will contend for years. Where they start doing things the penguin way is when they pay Toews and Kane $20M+ per year.

baker had a strong read

"For the sake of a mock lineup, we’ll add the top picks from 2010 and 2011 to get an idea what Tim Murray might be looking at heading into the late-June selection process:

F
GIRGENSONS – GRIGORENKO – ARMIA
BAILEY – COMPHER – FASCHING
CARRIER – HURLEY/LARSSON – BAPTISTE
(CATENACCI – KEA – POSSLER)

D
ZADOROV – RISTOLAINEN
MCCABE – PYSYK"

Did you forget that the Hawks just won the Cup last year with pretty much the same bottom 6 as this year?

And they beat that same LA team to get there??

They lost Dave Bolland who if I remember scored the GW or GT in the cup clinching game, and lost Stahlberg who while didn't always produce, was a good speed guy to have.

Subtract those two and add Handzus playing more than he should and Bollig playing at all and IMO it made a differece

Happy draft day dudes!
If you're downtown @ FNC/Zombie Night at the Ballpark/Thorogood @ Canalside.. stop by Iron Works after as they have a solid local band/beer/patio etc!

Sam Bennett is going to look good in Blue & Gold.

I think the biggest difference was the fact that Sharp was really quiet through the entire playoffs this year. As well as Hossa. Yes, Hossa was putting up points, but he wasn't burying his chances like he usually does.

Yes and again it was ONE GOAL in overtime. We all know they would have beaten the NYR
