East coast bias aside, Bergeron certainly has earned it this year. I don't think you'll find many in Kingsland to doubt that. Though if Toews outvotes Kopi, that may be another matter. |

As the whole concept of advance stats progresses, I wonder if we will be able to really see that players like Dats, Toews, Bergy, Kopitar, etc. are better one on one matches to watch than the Crosby's and Stamkoes and OVIs, etc.
It seems that the best all around players shut each other down for the most part, BUT the best all around players always seem to shut down and produce against the top scorers.......in the league.
Pattern that should be looked at....?
One thing that is interesting to me is the lack of production from some of these top players against BETTER COMPETITION that the playoffs force.
Maybe we should reevaluate the BEST IN THE LEAGUE. Not five or six point games against crappy competition. Compared to big boy players playing against big boy players.
Just a thought. - JIwasinskiJr
Hopefully, although a lot of guys you've mentioned already get a ton of respect. I've heard Bergeron mentioned by many fans/media as the best center in the league.
The group I really hope advanced stats brings some recognition to, is the really good players who drive possession and play a great two way game, but who fly under the radar because they put up < 60 points. |

Meant east coast bias shouldn't be an excuse to detract from Bergeron if he wins. I think everyone agrees the guy's been lights out all year. |

Agreed!
Teams are built on ths now, look at BOS for an example, never rely on 1 "superstar" and within the circle so many players get praise even though they are 30-40 point guys.
Look where teams like WSH are with a few "superstars" and surrund them with average at best players |

When is Bergeron gonna get some consideration for the Hart trophy already? He does everything so well. If a guy like Toews deserves to be in the discussion, Bergeron does as well.
As much as I would have liked to face Detroit in round 2 as I feel we'd have a better shot at beating them, I'm pumped for what looks to be a Montreal/Boston series. There's nothing like Habs vs Bruins in the playoffs. If you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best. |

Other years I wouldn't say he's considered... but this year he's been a whole new beast... 30 goals, 62 Points and a +38.... Thats without adding in how much of a beast he is in all other areas of the ice.
Bergy will be a Boston legend with his #37 hanging in the rafters.
Would love to see him get Hart consideration but it wont happen... Crosby scores 100+ points so it's all his |

I think Toews and Kopitar have made very strong cases. Bergeron has just been awesome this year. Boston biased? Yes. But I don't see how he doesn't win the Selke this year. |

you guys said this before every game. and most games ended with one or more Bruins whining and crying in the media because the Habs made them upset. |
