Could be, but the Avs have lost Barrie for the next series and Duchene may or may not be able to play. And the Ducks are getting battered, too. Toughest title to win in all of team sports.

You dont see this type of action in hoops playoffs. Certainly more predictable...and not the edge of your seat crazyiness you see in the NHL.

Nice Post !! Agree totally.
Handzus has made some nice shot blocks, but has also fallen down on 2 of the Blue's PP goals. One in game 2 and another last night. Once he's down, it takes forever for him to get back up and in the play again.
As for creating scoring chances for himself or his linemates ??? It just never happens. Smith created more in 1 shift last night at 2C that Zus in 4 games.
Hopefully Q will get off his stubborn platform and use him at 4C and PK. His TOI would then be limited and keep him energized !!

- Hawkytalk

Yeah that would be nice but at the rate of penalties against the hawks he still will get a good workout. The stupid crap needs to stop and some of the tricky tac penalties need to stop being called against the hawks

I agree, but I think one reason for the lack of trust is the lack of information. I am certain there is a very good reason for all moves made by the coaching staff; but that rationale is not known to us. So it often feels like there's no rationale or the coach is a dope. I know we're not going to get the info, just a theory on why the lack of trust...
- mohel

Please, let's not get into how he has "earned" our trust. I personally get frustrated when things continue to fail repeatedly without change. Why do some players sit the bench after poor penalties and others don't ? Why has this power play been so pathetic for so long without trying something different. Sharp at the point is ridiculous because his strength is down low on the off wing, as is Kane on the other side. Now, watching Versteeg as a turnover machine has earned him the nickname Pop Tart amongst many !! Adding an infusion of energy and some fresh legs just might help, but again, the coach refuses to change what's not working, even though we're winning. Problem is..... we could be winning easier if he tried to change some of the flaws. That's what is frustrating.
As for adding Morin, Regin, or Nordstom ? I'm sure that would never happen because Q is afraid of the mistakes, however, there are mistakes made on every possession of every game by just about every player on this team. Even Mr.Norris trophy winner makes mistakes. We can all only hope that the success continues and we get through this round, and maybe some fresh legs will be considered down the road.

Man, that was a lot of intense hockey. From watching the CBJ- Penguins game live to watching the Hawks-Blues. I was physically drained and I just watched. ( and drankā€¦)

This series is going to be the death of me. I was several beers deep by the end of the 1st last night.

Even though Hoss hasn't been lighting up the score sheet, he was very aggressive and fast last night. There were two big hits he threw that made me wonder why he hasn't done that more in the past.

Injuries. He used to do that kind of stuff all the time prior to his slew of shoulder and back injuries as a Hawk.

Thanks M............ I am ready.
I just hate seeing failure rewarded over and over again without change.
This can be easier with some quality decisions that just about everybody sees !!
Sitting Versteeg for Morin would send a message to Verstink as well as the rest of the team that poor play will not be tolerated. It would also motivate the sheeat out of Morin and maybe infuse some life into Shaw, Saad, Bollig, etc. It's the playoffs boys and if you're not going to put out, we have many others that will. This team is loaded in talent and Q is not using it to his advantage. OLD mentality and OLD philosophy may have won him 2 cups in 4 years, but things have changed. Other teams are getting bigger, faster, and stronger. We may not win with that same philosophy anymore. Use the kids to motivate the vets !!!!!!!!!!

Any takers on how much time he spends draped all over Bergeron's back (ptp) like he did on Toews in the 2nd round last year?

I love this line of thinking. You think NHLers, people who on average are way more competitive than anyone on this board, think its ok to play bad in the playoffs, and need Kris Versteeg to get benched to figure it out. What?!?! Are you seriously saying the NHL changed so drastically the Cup winning coach from last year has an OLD mentality. God, do you think you would be the winningest coach of all time if only you got the chance?

They say he's limited to 10-12 minutes, so I'll say 10-12 minutes.
