wings in deep trouble...lose on a double boink off their dman's leg...

We really need to beat the blues. Some big things happening to make the road to the Cup easier: don't know when duchene comes back, barrie out for a month, now Mackinnon |

Duchene should be returning pretty soon. Losing Barrie is real big for them. |

Wings can't match Boston's physicality. Other than their Dmen, a lot of "the Kids" they have brought up at fwd are of the smallish variety.
That said, based on what I saw last year, there was nothing I saw that told me Nyquist was going to go on a tear when he came back from injury and have an almost 30 goal season. |

Abdelkader had a partial break seconds into o/t and looked like he flubbed it...only saw it once though.

Yeah I bet duchene will be ready for game 1 of round 2: if they get there. Barrie is a huge weapon jumping into the play. Best thing is for this round 1 series to go at least 6 |

This series is definitely a target-rich environment. I wish they would have a bench clearing brawl where they all get injured. |

Losing zetterberg for the 1st 3 definitely hurt them. He looked rusty tonight. Who did they lose from last year's team? They looked tough last year. In time the kids will be a lot better. Boston is a very tough matchup for your 1st ever playoffs |

Missing from the Ave's lineup is Barrie. He whom beat Chg twice with skate off goals.
If they say walk off home runs in baseball jargon, then I guess I can say skate off goals. Some wordsmith can take the time to come up with a better phrase.
So now we see how the Avalanche can loose if we met them in the next round, eh? Minny has throttled their attack. And a Barrie cannot save the day even if they are outplayed. I do not believe even Varlamov can stop Minny. Unless their is a deft strategic move by Roy ......the avalanche is caving in!

Barrie is a big loss for the Av's.

Trying to think but off the top of my head, Brunner and Filppula, both smallish but gave them some offense. Eaves went in a trade.
Z and Datsyuk have been hurt much of the season. Frantzen's been bad and both he and Bertuzzi are old.
Helm is in who they didn't have last year cause he was injured. Alfredsson was out tonight.
The kids will be decent but Datsyuk and Z are getting older and I haven't seen anyone there that's filling their shoes anytime soon.
They traded Jarncrock (sp?) to Tampa to get Legwand but they supposedly have a couple more prospects that are supposed to be pretty good in addition to Mantha who they picked last year. |

Wings are young...And some of their better players are older and more injury prone.

That was all from the top of your head? that is a lot of turnover. Their 3rd line last year was great against us. With brunner and a swede center i can't think of. What happened to Weiss? Let me guess: a big injury? Probably out for most of the year |

Through 46 minutes of hockey, I think the Avs finaly reached double digits in shots.
Nope. Only 8 |
