Just ask Dan Bernstein. Backes is better than Seabrook.

Fell asleep just as the Blues tied it up at the end of the 2nd. Awesome to wake up and see the Hawks pulled out a W in overtime

And I would argue that Goaltender wasn't a very weak point before the Miller trade.

I think St Louis gets shaken up quite a bit if/when the Hawks give them a first round exit.

- PhilMeister89

Totally agree. If Miller was an upgrade over Halak, it is only by a bit, imo. And when you add in that they had to give up Stewart and get Ott to make the thing work, I think the trade is a net loss. Just my 2 cents....

Sofar it appears that way .

As long as Miller ends his Blues career with 2 playoff wins.

Whoever wins this series will represent the West right ?

I think the Sharks are good but the Kings are foolsgold so its hard to tell.

Where did that Kings troll go ?

Hitch on Backes: "Hopefully he's able to get back before Seabrook or by Seabrook's time, so it doesn't turn into an advantage for Chicago."

On whether it would be wrong if Seabrook came back sooner, Hitch replied: "Yeah, selfishly from a St. Louis standpoint, yeah for sure."

Hitch on Toews slashing Petros stick "We were not thrilled by that & less thrilled when we saw it on tape today but what are u going to do?

Hitch cont'd: "Those are the tough ones that go against you. (The officials) didn't think it was significant." #stlblues

WHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. There are a million things that didn't get called both ways last night. Get over it loser.

I think the Sharks are very good, and I also think beating the hell out of LA means something. I think the winner of this series could beat anyone, but that could depend on the health of major players.

Seriously this is getting ridiculous. Hitch is acting like a petty baby. You win by coaching your team successfully to play better than the other not by crying over everything you think COULD have been called. If Seabrook gets back before Backes so what? He served the sentence the NHL decided was just...

Everyone remember big mouth barry the Kings blogger that got booted off this site?

Well I just went to his site for the first time in over the year, he ACTUALLY predicted the Sharks sweeping the Kings in the first round before the playoffs started

Im shocked. I dont know what to think he might actually be right, especially since he's a monster homer

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahah.

Agahahahahahahahahahhahahahaahhahaha

Phuck Fatty.

It goes both ways.

G1- Hawks should of had a. 5 on 3 in ot when the Blues PK shot the puck over the glass no call.

G2- After the hit heard round theWorld Seabrook was attacked by a glvelessBlues player . Seabrook was the only player given a penalty. The Hawks would have spent the first 2 minutes of the 5 minute penalty 4 on 4.

Oh wel poop happens and the creamalways rises to the top.

Hawks in 6 . Crawdaddy with at least 1 more shut out

Way to pull that out... Kane heating up and that's bad for the Blues. Shaw has got to get it under control. Way to many stupid penalties. Its 2-2 now baby and have no doubt the Blues are thinking.. here we go again.
- z1990z

And with the new second line the hawks top 6 look to be back in dangerous form. And I can't blame shaw for taking a shot at 29. Guys an ahole. And I think that was after ott punched Zeus right in the face. I hate 2 players in this league a lot. Number 1 is Torres obviously, but ott is number 2 hands down. Hate that guy

I have said it before and will say it again. In the biggest game of their professional lives, both Backes and Oshie were fighting for residence on a milk carton. The only forwards who didn't play like they were afraid of the moment in Canada-USA game were Kane, Pavelski, and Parise.

>Regarding Backes: Al reported that the injury is probably neck-related
>When it comes to player effectiveness, that can sometimes be much worse than a concussion
>Reason being -- the amount of head-turning and movement required to play hockey at it's highest level -- especially for a center -- hard to do it right if your neck is a mess
>Really enjoy hearing Hitch line up all his excuses for a series loss
>But the Hawks need to play their first full 60 tomorrow

Was wondering about that and if there is some sort of localized painkiller or numbing agent they would use on that. Because otherwise, it's pretty hard to have your head on a swivel when it has limited mobility.

'sup Mo?

Don't know -- only watched the 1st period and then bits of the 2nd (when they collapsed giving up the 2 goals). Was at my own game so I had to try and catch up after getting home.

The tying goal doesn't happen -- and Kane doesn't get the chance for the GWG -- if Leddy doesn't come far down the wall to keep the puck in the zone, gets it low where it makes its way around to Rozy. Anyone that's played can tell you those are some of the toughest plays to make. Anyone thinking Leddy hasn't gotten a LOT stronger or is just dumb is wrong. Pretty smart and good play. And gave up nothing on the defensive side - the plays I saw, he moved the puck well to an open Hawk quickly. No hesitation.

I'm simply happy he's playing well and the Hawks knotted the series!
