Tarasenko is one talented player, he will be a star for the Blues for a long time. Its times like this where we missing Bolland. It would be nice to send Bolland out there to throw Tarasenko off his game and shut him down. - DarthKane
Kruger is supposed to do that isnt he? Wasnt he supposed to develop into a Bolland type player (minus the Rat mentality though?) |

Yup...Could he be the Hawks answer to their 2nd line C? |

They're deployed differently. Bolland got harder matchups with better linemates, Kruger gets the harder zone starts with worse linemates. Plus Toews plays against top lines now, and he's better at it than Bolland anyway. |

Respect your viewpoint as always Mo.....but i had NO PROBLEM with Seabs' hit on Backes. Seabs is a clean player just trying to finish a hit like he's done a thousand times in his stellar career. The timing, in the game, was regrettable and i understand yourself and others take issue with Seabs on that play, but personally, i don't. - philco28
Agreed Phil, it was a very hard hit that happened to catch the #42 dirt bag a little high. I don't think Seabs had the same intent as guys that have really clocked him high - remember Wisniewski running him from center ice in Anaheim; Torres charging him behind the net; and that pr$ck Abdelkader charging him unnecessarily in the last game of the season in 2011? And it sure wasn't a hit from behind that guys like Cooke, Lapierre and a few others specialize in.
Seabs got the maximum punishment IMO. Backes got what he had coming to him after so many attempts to knock Toews out over the years. Seabs might have picked a better time to do it, but it was much more effective than having a stupid staged fight between Bollig and Reaves that does f'all. And now Fat Ass Hitch is saying losing Backes hurts them more than the Hawks losing Seabs. Boo Hoo!

Yeah i wish someone on the team could get some of that going. Bolland was great at pissing guys off without ever getting caught for stuff...ok maybe he got caught sometimes, but you know what i mean. |

Maybe he'd take a pay cut to come back if the Hawks could orchestrate some sort of endorsement deal with Terminix or Orkin.
Not sure how good Kruger is with English slang and trash talk but I still think he could become that guy. Shaw certainly could and does to some extent but pertaining to what you posted takes too many dumb penalties. |

Q has more patience with Versteeg than any other player....He won't be scratched especially coming off two wins.

I noted this last nite: and 3 were in the last 10 seconds of periods.
Plus one in the first 30 seconds of an overtime. - StLBravesFan
A major difference between this years Hawks and last years. They were pretty (frank)ing good at extra time all that season and post.
Either don't let the games go to overtime and play your balls off in the waning minutes, or pick your poop up on overtime and stop letting the Blues control momentum at the end of every period.

Awesome win last night!
Sorry if it's been mentioned already but I don't feel like reading every post...too sleepy! But Versteeg looked awful last night. He seems like a square peg at this point and maybe needs a seat. The way things ended up last night with Smith between Kaner and Sharp means Zeus on the 4th line. I'd love to see something like:
29-19-81
10-28-88
20-16-65
52-26-12---play this line like a true 4th line with limited minutes (except for Zues on the PK)
Roll three lines.
Big game tomorrow! |

The seabs hit was a definite message hit. He really wanted to nail backes for all the stuff he does. If he did that hit to schwartz let's say, I don't think I would have liked it as much. |

If it is Schwartz, or Tarasenko, or Steen, or Pietrangelo, or Bouwmeester, I doubt that hit even happens. I think Karma had a lot to do with it. |

Way to pull that out... Kane heating up and that's bad for the Blues. Shaw has got to get it under control. Way to many stupid penalties. Its 2-2 now baby and have no doubt the Blues are thinking.. here we go again. |
