To protect against tanking? That's dumb. If you want to lose on purpose and alienate your fanbase, that should be your call to make. Regardless, if you are going to have a lottery, and you are going to televise it, couldn't you at least make it interesting? This was worse than ladies curling. (Not that men's curling is better to watch or anything!) - James_Tanner
You just had to go there, didn't you? Why not just refer it to curling in total instead of taking a pot shot at women?
Way to go! You must be proud contributing to keeping misogyny & sexism alive and well on the internet. |

I'd rather watch women's curling than men's, but I'm straight. |

Flyers in 4 games, damn son, that's bold. But I like it! lol.
I honestly don't know why everyone seems to think the Rangers are going to destroy us? We're a deeper team up front by a mile... The only clear advantage they have is Lundqvist, and the fact the Flyers can't win at MSG. |

NHL should implement a point process where once you're mathematically eliminated the more wins you get the more balls you get in the lottery. This way it prevents tanking.
And then they should do a lottery from 1-14 |

Well, you failed miserably at comedy. The blog seems to be failing too. Did you ever think of trying your hand at something else instead? |

I am not against a lottery to prevent tanking, but because tanking in itself is so detrimental to your team (the honour and reputations of your management, the mixed message to your players, the way the league and other teams/players will treat you in the future, to name just a few of the costs) having a law to prevent it seems kind of like having a law against suicide.
If they are going to have a lottery, and again, I think Buffalo just got kind of screwed for no reason at all, they need to make it at least exciting. Let teams have a chance at the first overall pick, let them move up more than four spots etc. |

They already can move up more than 4 spots. Seriously did you just get introduced to the NHL? |

Its true. Despite being a world class jerk about it, this guy is right. The NHL used to have a rule stipulating that teams could only move up four spots, but they apparently changed it prior to last year.
I admit it, I am an idiot. |

just do your research before ranting in a blog, 6 canadian teams and commenting on the old draft system in a blog about the draft is a poor showing. |

I think it's OK to make some mistakes. I try to write daily, and I don't have an editor. I don't think you should take things so seriously. I promise you that considering the fact that this is a daily part time gig that I fit in around another pretty demanding job, that two mistakes (easy to make ones too) are not a big deal.
In the future, perhaps robots will write mistake free hockey blogs and you can be happy. Until then, I hope pointing out minor mistakes to people on the internet makes you feel a little better about things. |

not really minor mistakes when they are about the topic you are trying to write about. Spelling player name wrong in blogs is a minor mistake (which you did in a few spots in this blog).
Would you consider writing a blog about realignment a minor mistake when you are qouting the Adams, Norris divisions and the number of teams pre-expansion? Writing a blog about how to change the lottery system and not knowing how the current one works, as well as mentioning you are from Canada and yet dont know the correct number of Canadian teams is a bit of a lackluster effort.
You wont become the next leafs blogger if you dont up your game a bit |

Tanner, Kings play boring hockey? Sometimes, yes. Sutter the worse? Doubt that. The one thing, though, that the Kings and Sutter have is a cup. It is not healthy to hold a grudge. Kings whipped Phoenix good on the way to the cup run. I know it is hard to forget but you will feel better if you do. |

This is not a joke - if Glen Sather was fired and they hired me they would be a better team. Instantly. - James_Tanner
