At least if he comes back Saturday, it'll be to a majorly European opponent who doesn't hit or goon it up much. Just hope his scoring touch doesn't start back up immediately. |

That would be awesome. I remember being at Yzerman's first home game back after his bad knee injury in 2002. Was pretty awesome feeling to have THE franchise player back. Stamkos is definitely the best PGS out there. |

Jon Cooper said that it might be a good day for him to come back. Said that with Babcock as the Canadian coach, Detroit players might be warned not to touch Stamkos |

Well it hasn't been confirmed yet. Still some hurdles to jump before he can get back in the lineup. Saturday is just the target. |

He shouldn't be going. Even if he plays he will not be up to speed. He should take the extra couple weeks to heal and practice to be back with Tbay fully recovered after the break.
And as for MSL; SY lobbied for him but its the rest of the coaching staff that did not put him on the team. |

SY is GM. SY makes the final decisions. He watches the player night in and night out. If he says that MSL is on the team, MSL is on the team. |

Yeah, but a good GM listens to his underlings and advisers. And I heard Babcock was a major player in keeping Marty off. Don't know if that's true or not. |

I've heard that about Babcock, too.
A good GM also trusts his own instincts. Yzerman got that job for a reason. We're not talking about the entire roster here. We're talking about one player that Yzerman knows better than anyone else on that staff. It was the perfect opportunity for him to step up. |

There is NO Canadian player better then him that's not on the Olympic team. He's the best Canadian non-Olympian. |

Completely agree! MSL is one of the best all around players over the last decade. |

Yeah, was rather surprised to see MSL left off the roster. Its a shame too. Who would of thought the GM of the team MSL plays for keeps his own captain off the Canadian roster. |

Not according to SY. He said everything was a group decision. |

That doesn't change my point. He's the General Manager. He has the power to stand up and say yea or nay. He didn't. Like you said, he let the group decide. What's done is done, but I don't agree with his approach on the St. Louis file. |

Yet, apparently Eric Staal was given the next in line status (at least I've seen that posted). Which is BS. |

If he's coming back from a broken leg, why the heck would they put unneccessary stress on it by making him jump hurdles?
Does the Lightning medical staff even know what they are doing?!?!? |
