Gardiner for Gagner is a fair straight up deal IMHO - that being said I don't think the deal really helps either team right now.

The Oil and the Leafs both need defensive minded guys on the back end right now. Although Gardiner played quite well in both ends of the ice against the B's last playoffs, there's no doubt that he's viewed as an offensive minded d man. The Oil have Schultz already for that role.

I am sure Visnovsky (fellow Slovak) will help with the resigning. I feel Bailey, Grabner or Cal would be potential trade baits. Blues will look for playoff help in the front. Their D is pretty much set and Isles have no D to trade outside of AMAC and maybe Hickey.
