Both are fringe NHLers, so it doesn't really matter much - Jsaquella
so yea would you rather them make their mistakes in the AHL or NHL |

the Flyers had 7 picks in the 2012 draft. 5 participated in the WJC (Ghost last yr). have to love that. I only saw Russia a few games being they were in the other pool but I thought Valeri Vasiliev looked good. Same with Hagg. Leier was on the 4th line for the most part and sometimes the 13th skater. I thought he played with a lot of energy and added some punch. he did see more time on other lines. seemed to play a bit in the 3rd today. Laughton spent the early tournament as a checker then moved up to play wing. I was hoping to see a more offensive role. And obviously Stolartz was just the backup so had little opportunity to do much
major disappointment for North America. I thought the pool was weak for the US and Canada. The USA didn't have a tough game until Canada. Glad they have Finland and Canada in the pool next yr - nastyflyergirl
Morin "might" have a shot at next year. |

Imo we have no prospects that are going to be top 9 players. I dunno how useful the AHL is for bottom 9 guys like McGinn and VDV. I think its more useful for them to learn the NHL grind on the roster. That's just my 2 cents. |

Laughton & Leier are top 9 prospects. But they are with the last few drafts adding prospects mostly on defense but I'm okay with that part. |

Its a long time away but I say he has a better chance making the Flyers roster for 9 games then team Canada. The tourny is to fast and small for guys like Morin. If the tourny is on NA ice so that helps. but still I see a over reaction next year and Hockey Canada going wit more mobile smaller dmen.
It is just a gut feeling. I am not saying he is a bust I am just saying some players are more fitted for NHL game then jr international play |

I probably should know the answer to this but I don't recall....when the tournament is held in NA, do they still use Olympic size rinks? I know Montreal and Toronto host next year |

I respect ppl who think Laughton is a top 6 prospect. I just see him as a well needed and respected 3rd line center who doesn't put up huge pts but is a key piece to a team. I see him between a John Madden and Mike Peca.
As for Leier, I don't think we have seen enough of him to call him a top 9 forward. He has played on a good Jr team and has produced well. |

Like I said I meant top 6 not top 9. I like Cousins a lot I was really encouraged watchin him in preseason esp vs Caps prospects. I think he is will be a black ace this year (I think that's what they are called) and will have a chance to make the team next year if Downie walks and no one is resigned. |
