you guys had 4 D men out & were still winning, as my boss says to me at work:
"you'll be ok"
sorry, just kidding
seriously though, I've lost my patience with Rinaldo, I don't know what they see in him?
I think Ben Holmstrom would help us more - puckhead17
Rinaldo has definitely taken a step or two backwards this season. I still think he is of value for this team, if he can get back to playing like he did last year. If they sit him I'd rather see VDV get the playing time or bring up McGinn to give him another shot. |

The Olympic selection process has as much to do with the egos of the NHL GM's on the committee as it does the players.
Brooks Orpik really doesn't belong on this year's Olympic team. - johndewar
eh. i wouldnt have been so quick to declare him a lock. but its not like a my god what were they thinking level inclusion either |

No, Orpik's inclusion is not what I'd call egregious, but to have a guy like Paul Martin on the team at the expense of a guy like Byfuglien or Yandle is pretty ridiculous.

He was playing so well. Well that sucks for him but damn Finland. Damn. Rasmus Ristolanein was awesome. Wish we got him. But the real star I think was Saros. He was so good. |

Nothing to base it on but I wouldn't be shocked if Homer tried to get the 7th pick but couldn't work out anything with Edmonton |

I think Hagg needs to come over to NA asap. As I posted earlier, the biggest flaw in his game I noticed this tourny was his play infront of his net. I know he is playing wit men in the SHL but I think with the right coaching he can be something we have lacked for years. |

I suggested he go to a CHL team but he wanted at least 1 more year over in Sweden. |

I woudnt have been suprised at all either. That would have been wonderful. Too bad Edmonton is stingy with trades |

Not sure that was the case, they needed D, for all we know Homer was trying to get as much out of them as he could.
But it's all speculation on my part. It may not even have any merit |

True. They might have wanted Coburn. Imagine our blueline now without him.
I have mixed emotions over this. |

the Flyers had 7 picks in the 2012 draft. 5 participated in the WJC (Ghost last yr). have to love that. I only saw Russia a few games being they were in the other pool but I thought Valeri Vasiliev looked good. Same with Hagg. Leier was on the 4th line for the most part and sometimes the 13th skater. I thought he played with a lot of energy and added some punch. he did see more time on other lines. seemed to play a bit in the 3rd today. Laughton spent the early tournament as a checker then moved up to play wing. I was hoping to see a more offensive role. And obviously Stolartz was just the backup so had little opportunity to do much
major disappointment for North America. I thought the pool was weak for the US and Canada. The USA didn't have a tough game until Canada. Glad they have Finland and Canada in the pool next yr |

what do you think is better for vdv and mcguinn? playing 7 mins a night in the NHL or getting tons of mins in the AHL |

Both are fringe NHLers, so it doesn't really matter much |

I think Stolie the Goalie did see game action, no? Didn't he shut out some weak sister team?
