Some Random thoughts:
On Laughton: Being named captain of team Canada is pressure enough without having to deal with a bad coach. From the little bit I saw and what I've read, I thought he did a decent job in a very difficult situation.
On the Flyers D for 14-15: The only way they are getting a #1 guy is if they are willng to part with Couturier, B Schenn and more. I think Girardi would fit in nicely in Berube's system and I could live with Boyle replacing Timonen as long as the deal is for no more than 2 years. I would then trade Grossmann for cap space and go with the following:
Coburn-Boyle
Streit-Girardi
Gus or Lauridsen-Schenn
On Berube: Pretty hard to fault the job he has done so far. Unlike Lavi, he has crafted a system that fits his talent. I'd really like to see what he could do with a bit more talent and mobility on D. - BiggE
Not bad, I'd be more along the lines of:
Edler/Buff-Coburn
Grossmann-Pitkanen
Timonen-Lauridsen/Alt

These Finns are really easy to root for. Maybe not the most talented, not the biggest, but just a really pesky team. |

Both of these teams can flat out fly. So much speed, and both work hard,. |

That would happen right after I post that. But honestly I love that slapshot from the point. We need another finnish leading our powerplay after Timonen retires |

Teravainen looks like a steal for Chicago.
- flyer_nutter
Teravainen was a first round pick, no?
I remember wanting him to fall to the Flyers, but he went two picks prior to the Flyers taking Laughton. |

Lukas Wallmark was not drafted, the Finnish goalie (Preds pick) Jusse Saros was selected in 4th round of 2013
The Flyers did not have a 4th round pick (would have been pick 102) that was sent to Tampa Bay in a previous trade who then traded it to Ottawa |

2012 Draft Teravaien taken #18 by Chicago. Lightning Goaltender Andrei Vasilevski taken #19. Flyers take Laughton #20

In here Tim says that the Flyers could have had Yandle for the same price as JvR...if that's true...Jesus (frank)ing Christ. - Jsaquella

I'm not sure if I do or not, but if Holmgren did shoot it down, then he should be fired. |
