If the bastards even do that much...I had one tell me they'd get me a cot for the terminal. Fortunately I was in the Navy at the time and had other people volunteer to give up their seats for me. |

Like I said I meant top 6 not top 9. I like Cousins a lot I was really encouraged watchin him in preseason esp vs Caps prospects. I think he is will be a black ace this year (I think that's what they are called) and will have a chance to make the team next year if Downie walks and no one is resigned. - AGL_91
IMO, Cousins, Akeson, Straka, Leier are all skilled guys who are either going to make it or break it as scoring-line forwards. As unlikely as it is, any one of them could pull a Matt Read. Laughton definitely looks like a top 6/9 forward -- maybe not immediately, but the kid has a complete game.
Of course, no Jonathan Drouin's or Anthony Mantha's in the system, but that's a function of focusing on D and fast-tracking prospects (Coots) to the pros. |

Akeson is definitely a top-6 player. Think a poor man's Briere on the wing. Sadly, he probably has no future here, but may be able to catch on with a Nashville-type team that needs scoring help.
Cousins is probably a bottom-6 player. He put up great junior numbers, but his game is more tailored to a pest-type in the NHL. Again, think a poor man's Brad Marchand...maybe Downie's a good comparison.
Straka and Leier, I don't know much about them. Leier has been a pleasant surprise so far. Definitely a top-6 AHL player, will have to see from there. As for Straka, again, I don't know much about him, but he seems like a guy who could maybe one day work on a 3rd scoring line. |
