Don't want Phaneuf. Well give you a couple pucks, that's about it.

I can't take anyone seriously if they don't have Weber in their top 6 of team Canada.

Well that would complete the Beatle John Trifecta:

Fire Burke and Wilson. (CHECK)
Hire Nonis (CHECK)
Trade Neon Dion.

If only you guys listened to me a while back.

Sorry can't hear you when you're sitting at the bottom of the standings.

Give it a month, your team seems to be desperately trying to hear me...they have thrown the bus into reverse...October, 1st place, November 4th place...December..? Looking like a solid 5th, trending to 6th!

the sabres have 7 wins in 31 games. they are on pace for 42 points. to put that in perspective, that would have been good enough for just 26th place in the lockout shortened, 48 games season. Enjoy watching the worst team the NHL has seen since the expansion thrashers!

Guys don't make fun of him too badly, it's bad enough that Buffalo plays like the District 5 ducks before Bombay got there.

So many Avermans.

I'm kinda glad Dion got suspended, it will give us all a good look at what the d would be like without him against pretty good teams. It will be real interesting if they pull off a couple wins, might make people think a bit...
- aminnes

Yeah because playing 2 games against powerhouses in the west will be a good test for them without Phaneuf.

Gives guys on the back end a sense of opportunity, and a chance to play big minutes for two games. It could jump start some abismyl performers on Leafs back end, or end in a ball of flames. Either way, should be fun to watch.

Phaneuf to the habs for Diaz, Drewskie, a 4th round pick in 2014 and a 3rd rounder in 2015.

Hmmm our best D-man for a pending UFA who has neither size or toughness, a #8 D man, and two middling picks....nah if the habs wanted Dion they would have to overpay (division rival) so Tinordi, McCarron and a 1st to start

I like the random assortment of teams he has in there, strategically omitting Anaheim, one of their biggest rivals

the issue with phenuef is that he hasn't been worth the 6m/yr since he was in calagary and was a dominant force. If I were nonis I would try to negotiate a 2-4yr deal worth no more than 4.25m per. If he can't then keep trying to move him because TML do need him at the moment he's the only d that is a physical force on the team with an ability to produce offencely as well. If they are keen on moving him then in return they need a first pairing d in return preferably a right hand shot to off set the rest of the team which is majority left hand shots, but only going to get that if we pair something big with very few sellers at the d position that would be worth while.....just my opinion.

If Dion took a 6 year 5 mil extension I'd be more than happy to see him as a leaf. But we need a top 6 Drew Doughty type playing our top defensive line.
One way to ensure this trade is to package Gardiner and Clarkson. Clarkson is the worst pick-up I've EVER seen. This guy plays how he speaks in an interview-- clueless. He has hands like Colton Orr and just dives into bodies in front of the net with no real idea of what to do when he gets there-- but he gets paid like Kessel? Ever since he joined the team the dynamic changed for the worse.... kinda hard to perform if you're a Kadri when Miley Cyrus' wrecking ball is getting paid double what you are while (frank)ing up every play you're trying to execute.

Time for the leafs to get back to the hard hitting, scrappy, defensive play paired with a fast paced transitional game that demand skill/intelligence from you're top 6.

That's what was most apparent last year, when the league started noticing the Leafs on the schedule.

But I digress, what the fuh' do I know?

P.S- trade Riemer for another D man while he still has some worth
