Isn't this the same guy that Sabres owner Pegula went out west and talked him into changing his mind on the no-trade clause and brought him to Buffalo? I know the guy is not being shopped by the Sabres but he is not playing bad on our defense AND he is locked in for years. Why even have the idea parked in the Sabre mind - Skeezix459

Which team wants/needs a veteran #1 goalie?
It's funny for me to say that we'd consider trading our MVP.... yes: Craig Anderson IS the most valuable player to the Senators [For awhile 2]. Wonder what the offer would be from the oilers. Package for Yakupov ?... |

Eklund: Oilers and "2 other teams" Showing Interest in Christian Ehrhoff - Eklund
Ek.
Respectfully, your Buffalo source is very wrong.
We here in Buffalo have heard nothing AT ALL about Christian going anywhere.
Either wanting or forcefully.
Christian isn't going anywhere.
The only way I could have seen this happening is if he was packaged with Ryan.
Miller has already come out and said he wants no part of Edmonton.
It's not happening. |

If the cost is Yakupov, no interest in Anderson. Understandably, Oilers fans will believe a good team when they see it, and I don't think they'll invest in a veteran goalie like that until it's clear he'd be around once we got good. |

let me ask you this.. why would he accept a trade to move that far for 8 months to a team that has the same chance at winning the cup this season? He might as well just stay in Buffalo and lose. |

i think his not wanting to go there has alot to do with the distance of the move for a short period of time to a team that has little to no more of a chance at winning the cup. |

To play devil's advocate, maybe he sees where he could fit in Edmonton's future, or needs a fresh start, or likes the contract he'd get from them. After all, there's no way anyone is going to acquire Miller without a strong indication that he'd sign with them.
But again, we want no part of players that want no part of us, and my oilers compatriot is probably a little testy because the Edmonton slagging by players is a self-fulfilling prophecy that is the direct cause of the decline of our franchise. It sucks to be written off because of a PR problem, and given that Miller has more globally rejected Canada, it adds little to the conversation to specify Edmonton. |

My allegiance is to the Oilers, so I could care less who likes or doesn't like the city of Edmonton, but insofar as it impacts the team it gets a little tired to hear again and again how Edmonton is siberia. It's a given now that people wanting to play in Edmonton is an exception to the rule.
This article suggests at least a possibility that small market Canadian teams could begin to level the playing field.

The point being, Buffalo hasn't historically been a hotbed for FA or players with NMC waiving. But who'd blame them. |

OK...For all the stupid trade proposals flying around about the Oilers, maybe hearing it from MacT will shut everyone up. There will be no ridiculous deals happening.

i understand the comments on Edm.. hell i am a buffalo fan we hear all the same crap... I just have a feeling that Miller is going to want to go to a contender and his list contains teams that will not compete this season.
As for him rejecting Canada, i think that is a little dumb and some creative licensing on the part of the media.. I am sure that Miller was not stupid enough to put teams like TO, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver on his list because those would be a waste. I coudl see him putting Wpg, edm and calgary on his list though.. But why would he put a team that has the goalie situation locked up or a team that he pretty much knows DR wouldn't trade him to? I just don't believe the he rejected Canada statement |

I've never seen a public statement that came from Miller naming any teams on the list. If anyone has one, I'd love to see it.
As for heresay, I've heard as many people say that he's flat out rejected Canada as I have that he's rejected Edmonton but not other Canadian teams. I've even heard reports that he'd not worried about going to a bad American team, and even reports that he'd rather go to Florida to play on a bad team than go to Toronto and play on a good one. It's all heresay, and no one knows for sure.
You raise a good point about goalie situations being locked up, although from the way I understand it he's allowed to update his list every year, which means we're going off several "editions" of the list by now, and I'd be surprised if it was the same each year.

that is the key.. i wouldn't read much into it. Hell he moved to Buffalo and liked it, i would think he would be open to moving anywhere as long as it fit his plans. |
