Should the Oilers take Biron off of waivers?? With the goaltending being horrendous, (25 goals in 5 games) we need to do something in net cause what we have isn't working and it is costing us games.
- CanadianPride21

Have you watched him play lately? He has been garbage, and is not an upgrade over any NHL goalie right now.

Nash Richards Kristo

Kreider Stepan Callahan

Pouliot Brassard JT Miller

Zucc Boyle Dors

- Mapleleafs_91

Zucc would get murdered on the 4th line.

Richards - Stepan - Nash
Pouliot - Brassard - Zuccarello
Kreider - Miller - Pyatt/Fast
Boyle - D. Moore - Dorsett

Agree. Pyatt, Boyle, Dorsett, Dom Moore, all garbage right now. They need a jolt of life & the kids like JT Miller & Kreider playing well in Hartford could do that.
- B2B76

I dont get Boyle at all. He can be dominant 3rd line player if he gave an effort at all. He has the size and ability. Just dont get it.

Maybe he needs a wakeup call.

There are only 3 goalies of 56 who have played this year with worse stats than DD and Biron is one of them.

This is you solution??

he was really good his first 2 years in new york. went 20-12 which is respectable for a backup.

Same can be said about Devan Dubnyk. He is just awful.

Oil really missed the bus on Bernier, Bishop, Schneider - all would be better choices, the latter being the best, but can't blame VANcity for not trading him to you.

I'd be looking at Reimer. Look what he did with a crap team, quite well all things considered. Then when the team gets good, they turn their back on him LOL. My guess is there will be a lot of teams looking at him when he's available. A goalie who is cheap and wont demand alot either for money

Well what could be changed for defense? skjei? mcllrath? Could give those guys a chance to see how they play over guys like falk, stralman and moore. I dont think you can bench giradi, del zotto, mcdonagh and staal The rangers need a major shakeup right now, like they are getting man handled
- Mapleleafs_91

Skjei is in college at Wisconsin, McIlrath isn't ready, but Falk is awful, they should've just signed Eminger again or another FA. DZ needs to be dealt in a package for more scoring help or a PP dman. Moore has a bright future and Stralman is fine. Since the team is bad anyway, they may as well see what they have in Talbot if he's a future NHL backup or not, at least for a month or so.

What is DD's cap hit? How many years does he have left on his current deal? We could swing you a deal for Reimer, take DD as our backup, you take Liles and you also give us a first, or Darnell Nurse in exchange.

On the Rangers, it's time for a rebuild. Their top players are getting a little over the hill and their prospect pool is getting thin. Maybe it's time to let King Henry go, for a nice package of draft picks and prospects. Most teams don't realize when it's time to tear it down and do a rebuild. Toronto killed 10 years, rebuilding because they didn't move their players at the right time. Same goes for Calgary, however they seem to be on the right track. Vancouver is the next team to realize that it's time for a rebuild. Trading Cory Schneider may have been a shrewd move, looking back, if Bo Horvat turns into the real deal. Rangers need to do it now, or suffer for years to come.

What would the asking price for Girardi be? Not that I expect him to move.

i think he re-signs, but if he's moved at the deadline...a prospect + a 1st maybe? he's quietly one of the top defenders in the entire league in terms of strictly defense, he's a warrior and a leader, and he's logged in top top 5 or 10 of ice time of all players in the league consistently for the past few years.

Who did you trade Callahan for? I thought the transition game was more an issue than this forwards group (except Pyatt)...

If the Rangers completely lose control of this and are dead in the water come the olympic break, then i don't think they have much of a choice but to move lundqvist. it's pretty obvious he won't resign if this nonsense continues. i'm wondering if the rangers called up talbot to see what he has rather than just go out and sign another backup like bryzgalov or theodore.

If you think that's funny that the Rangers are going to collapse and battle the Devils for the basement, in two years, then laugh away. I've seen this attitude play out way too many times. The Flames held on to some of their veteran players for two or three years too long and got very little in return. Toronto held on to Sundin and the rest of the Muskoka 5 and paid with a decade of futility. Vancouver is now batter up on this trajectory, with the Sedin's and Luongo, with very few young assets to build on. They too will continue on, this year, making the playoffs and bowing out in the first round again. The way the Rangers are set up, in the weakest division, they'll probably make the playoffs and lose in 4 straight. They may lose Lunqvist to UFA and get nothing in return. Even worse, he signs a Luongo type deal, with a no trade, no movement clause, then the Rangers collapse and your on the hook for a massive contract with a diminishing asset. Knowing Sather, he'll do what he always does, Flyers style!
