Maybe it's just me but playing for Det for league minimum is a better deal than making 2.5mil to play for Philly...
- BigDre

I mean, i would LOVE to hear cleary signed for league minimum, but i just cant believe that would happen. He has bad knees for sure, but hes worth maybe 1.75 a year, i was a little jealous philly snagged him (knowing he wasnt going to stay here anyway) but not for 7.75 over 3 years?! no way

Kind of like how 90% of the Oilers would love to play for a new team.

Not at all, the oilers are very appealing to alot of players, justin schultz could have went to 75% of the teams in the league and chose the oilers, they have super high pontential right now to start wrecking teams

Unlike Penguin fans, we are loyal, we don't just stop supporting our team when they lose or miss the playoffs. We didn't have to go pretty much bankrupt and almost have to move the team, lose season after season to get the top picks to get some fans back in the seats. Next.
- idiotsallofu

Never stopped being a fan, and them going bankrupt had nothing to do with the fans. Keep reaching.

JML welcome to your new home...(I hope). Then we sign Franson and Raymond and we love our life.

Even if Franson goes for 3.5...we're still left with a little over 2 million. We could easily look into signing Raymond as well as fill out the roster.

Win-Win. We just need the Canes to bite without us having to take back salary.

- Canadian kid

How many Leafs fans even mentioned Raymond's name before he was invited to camp? Now all of a sudden they have to get the guy signed? He's garbage. He isn't needed.

In all of this hype, i cant see carolina trading for franson, since they wont wanna give up much.

Liles is a good possibility.

Hainsey, Ryan Whitney are good cheap options.

From the flyers... the flyers want to unload a player, arguably mezaros, grossman, or coburn

There was an Ian White experiment a few years back. It did't go well.

ohh yeah my bad i forgot about that, so cross him out. Just hainsey and whitney would be good cheap options, but i dont think whitney is a good idea, that guy wont be playing much games for you, always hurt

It depends what the hurricanes need. Do they need a puck moving defender, a offensive defender, a two way defender, a shut down defender

Ryan whitney is injury prone.

Hainsey is the best two way player available.

Coburn is more the shutdown guy.

Liles is probably the best offensive defender out of those i mentioned

Mezaros just sucks

Grossman i dont know much about but probably a sound defender, good puck blocker

Which I don't believe you can....you already retained salary in Bernier deal. You are limited to 2 times are you not? Or is it unlimited? (frank). I'll have to dig it up.

Limit is 3.

•When trading a player, a team has the option of retaining a portion of that player's contract, paying the salary and taking the salary cap hit for that portion. The remaining portion of the contract is charged to the player's new team.
•The trading team can retain up to 50 percent of the departing player's salary and cap hit.
•A team can carry no more than three "traded" contracts at one time.
•The total paid to players who have been traded cannot exceed 15 percent of the team's salary cap.
•A player can be traded with "retained salary" no more than twice over the life of a single contract.

I have a feeling this is going to happen. It just fits for both sides.

On another note, how is NHL 14?? I got it yesterday, but didn't have time to play it.

It's not good. The Sabres suck on there too !

He couldn't until Pronger is LTIRed. He did sign a PTO, agreed in principal to a contract, and is slated to play tomorrow at 8:30AM on Flyers ice for camp...
