A few quick hits this afternoon...nice to have news happening again!

Update on Cleary. I am told that Cleary has NOT gotten a better offer yet and that the situation is way more complicate but could still be worked out.However setback could lead to a better offer from a familiar place...

Dan Cleary looked to be all set in and coming to Philly on a PTO until moments ago when sources began to text me that it appears Ckeary has gotten a better offer and he will not report to Flyers camp tomorrow...this could just be a Cap issue, but I am hearing all is open now.

Also...

Tough news in Carolina. Joni Pitkanen, recovering from a foot injury, has had a setback and will be out for the entire season. The Canes were already looking at D help and now are in a very desperate situation. Expect talks with the Leafs and Flyers to continue. And look to Hainsey and Ryan Whitney as other solutions...
