There's a few trophies handed out for the post season too. The Canucks should try sticking around for those sometime.

The hiring of Brian Burke instantly gives the Calgary Flames credibility.

Really Dougie Hamilton won't be elite? I am still confused as to how you know this already when he only just got some NHL games this year. I also hope that since you think Hamilton won't be elite (and I am not saying he will be) that you also think Reilly won't be either ?
- blizzzard

No sure thing on Reilly either, neither will be a flop but they also won't be top 20 D-men in the league either, which you'd hope to get in one of those draft spots.

If the Flames want to give us their first round pick for either of those guys the joke is on them. That's going to be a top 3 pick.
- Jeffmt

Kadri is a 7 th overall pick and Franson looks like he might be a keeper. Seeing Tor would probably match one offer sheet only it would only cost the Flames a first and a third. If they offer sheeted Franson first and Leafs matched they could have a pretty decent center.

Yeah but that's still a HUGE pick to give up. It could very well end up being first overall.

He is replacing Ken King as pres on the hockey side...King himself admits he is not a "hockey guy" not sure how this can be looked at as a bad move for the Flames in any way

I think there is lots of hate just because the guy was recently associated with the Leafs. When he was running the Ducks who nobody cares about I'm pretty sure 99% of fans thought he was a good hockey guy

what are the odds its first overall?

even if you finish last its only 25% chance you pick #1 so its less than that at this point.

I don't sense any hate. I think it is a great move to get Burke. He will speed up the progress by a few years.

That was a great win. We were all really proud of him.

By the way, that's what a Swede who shows up in the playoffs looks like. I understand you haven't seen many of them.

I don't know the exact odds but they're close enough that I wouldn't give it up for Kadri or Franson. I imagine the odds of it being a top 2 pick are good.

Officially Burke is a Prez, and the NHLs worst 2 prez's would be Lowe and Gillis .

Haven't the Oilers been in the top 10 picks for close to a decade now? Those are some pretty rose coloured glasses ya got there.

Sure, we were proud of him then too. A Swede stepping up in a big moment, gotta respect that.

Yeah, it is kind of ridiculous, no doubt. It's about as ridiculous as Canucks fans lording all their regular season success over the rest of the fans around the league. I think that's been everyone's point when talking about Vancouver fans.

It's amazing that you feel like you have a license to be a perpetual jackass but if anyone criticizes the Canucks they need to "adjust their attitude". It's amazing that so many Vancouver fans feel like their team is beyond reproach because they win a lot of regular season championships. You're like a bunch of homeless guys laughing at someone's refrigerator box.
