If Poulin was a "solid" back up goalie... we wouldn't need to be trading for another goalie.
Sundstrom is a prospect that is still a project, to call him a solid anything is premature.
Isles don't need a PP QB

TOR send: Reimer, Franson
NYI send: Poulin, Sundstrom, 2014 1st round pick
EDIT: Toronto gets a solid backup goalie and a solid two-way center capable of 2nd or 3rd line center duties.
NYI get the help they need at G and add a PP quarterback we have lost in Streit. - kcNYI
Reimer and Franson for Poulin, Sundstrom and a 2nd round pick... |

Too light on the return for Toronto.
Reimer and Franson for Poulin, Sundstrom a 1st round pick and 2nd round pick....
... but still no deal. doesn't address any immediate leaf needs. better off trading them out of conference for a package invovling a backup goalie, an average prospect and a couple of draft picks. |

already have Vis with A-Mac already on the team (they want to try him out there this year) & Donovan who might make the team out of camp, if not he is an injury call up.

Darren Drager said the Leafs would want a 2nd rd pick and a mid level prospect for Franson. If I were the Islanders I would offer the 2nd and a d-prospect for him...there is no way Snow will trade Strome, Reinhart, Pulock and Nelson... |

I like Amac, but he's not a threat from the point.....Calvin deHaan was supposed to be the guy. Donovan hasn't proven anything yet... |

He may not be, but they are going to see what he can do this season.
deHann or Donovan will be on the team out of camp & whichever one makes it will also be relied on to show what they can do, then you have Vis who can more then hold his own from the point... its not a huge issue.

I see my trade proposal as:
- Reimer for Poulin (backup) and Sundstrom (avg prospect)
- Franson for a mid-to-late 1st round pick
- Both deals separately look light for the leafs. I added the 2nd to balance them both out.
Still, I don't see franson/reimer traded to islanders for picks/ average prospects. Leafs and Isles may be competing for the 8th playoff spot. Can't see the Leafs sending roster players to the Isles unless it’s for an overpayment…
….Strome would be the guy I really want to see in a leafs uniform; though I don't see a deal to be made for Strome that makes sense for either the leafs or the isles. |

It is a huge issue because losing streit means those pts need to be made up. Games are won and lost with special teams.....you need more threats than JT, otherwise the pp will be easy to defend. I for one am not comfortable with what ifs. I like both Donovan and deHaan but I'd like to see them win that job, not get forced into it. Other than visnovski, there really isn't a top pp defenseman on this team. It is an issue, if you're a competing team. |

I'll take my chances with Dehaan or Donovan. If Dehaan can ever stay healthy, he has mad skills. Donovan seems to have skills as well. |

Pietrangelo would be awesome! Isles have the d prospects, but the Blues would probably look at Hammer and more. I doubt they would look to deal him though. |

It wasnt an issue when Streit was the only PPQB, Why would it be an issue when a better Vis is the only one?
Who said that deHaan or Donovan would be forced into the role... its a role they have trained their whole life for.
Not only is this not a big issue.. its not an issue at all.
