A painful game to be at. Oiler fans mocking the team with the we want 10 chant was just embarrassing. |

GARF decided to disappear for a while way back when, so Kev was brought in. GARTH came back, and has been leap-blogging Kevin ever since. |

Stafford always had a knack for scoring timely goals when they really matter. |

Not unless we were going to be getting a Nash-like power forward in return... |

I miss those days
- toddkac
The days where there actually was a lot of scoring after the lockout. If I were a GM I'd be mad at the NHL for the inconsistency of the style of play enforced.
They say they want it opened up and more skill oriented, but over time the game develops back to a style where the big Bruins are the team that has successes because penalties aren't always called like they were supposed to.
After the lockout the game was supposed to be faster and consist of more scoring. Now everyone wants the big guys. Now, I'm just using Darcy Regier as an example, not defending him, but he is an example of a guy who seems to be killed by this inconsistency.
The League says smaller and faster and he gets Drury, Briere, drafts Vanek(big but not overly physical), Roy, Pomminville, Ennis, Gerbe. Now he has to scramble to assemble a team of a different type since these guys were too 'soft'for the league.
I don't know if I prefer one style or the other, I just want consistency. Part of me fears that after the sabres are trying to get bigger, the league will try another rule enforcement restructure and make it a league that benefits the small and fast. |
