The only "big" trade the Oilers would make would be for a number one defenseman. I don't see anything in Cali that would fit that is available. Either untouchable or ntc.

Everybody around here that rips Pha9 as a Leaf would be running out to buy the pajamas as soon as he was on their team.

So a number 1 Dman would essentially be top 30 in the league (in theory)?

Why not go for the guy who relative to his defensive peers was 10th in points, 11th in TOI/game, tied 5th for goals, tied 16th in assists and ranked number one in Corsi RelQoC???

Very little movement happens on Sundays


and by normal I mean not leading into the draft or trade deadline.

I'm not sure we need Dion. We already have depth on the blue line with a couple of NHL ready prospects in the minors (Urbom and Gelinas) and a couple more possibly next season (Merill and Severson). He only has 1 year left on his deal too. At this point we need a star forward, not D man. If we are trading for Phaneuf, I hope we are getting rid of Volchenkov.

I think that the Phaneuf/Aulie for White/Stajan/Mayers/Hagman and Giguere for Toskala/Blake trade both happened on a sunday.

Infact I think it was the same sunday.

Really can't see the Leafs moving Dion at this point. I'm defintely not his biggest fan, but the guy is pretty integral to the Leafs Blueline. Who eats up those minutes if he leaves? Top pairing of Liles and Gunnerson? Yikes...

Sounds about right. I had no idea Fraser was that high in those categories. I'm going to pick him for my pool teams. NOBODY is going to think to pick Fraser, and he'll be a late round depth D pick that will crush hits and blocks.

Phaneuf is a solid defenceman... he just makes some dumb plays trying to do too much.

The reason people hate him is because he is overpaid, on the Leafs and takes cheap shots on other players.

Will not drop the gloves...

He needs to be paid around 4.5 million get back to playing defence, hitting guys and start dropping the gloves.

Take the "C" off the jersey too... not good for him!!!
