Ahhhhh yes, it seems like it was just last week when clout's thought Valtteri Filppula was a LW with size.

It just gets better and better. It's even more hilarious that he tried to pawn his incompetence off as humor by saying since when does Anaheim qualify as a team. I feel bad for you guys, having to put up with this garbage blogging on a daily basis, 2-3x daily depending on how many times he has to defend his stupid self.

(frank), I forgot about Cloutiers massive Mps/lander/Omari boner. Wasn't that the 2nd line of the future?

Since we're talking about Oilers past like Omark, do you know what's looking like it could be the worst move of Tambs' tenure, given our current needs?

Trading Kyle Brodziak + a 6th, for a 4th (Olivier Roy) and a 5th (Bigos -- now traded for Lee Moffie).

I'm serious. That's the definition of a hindsight is 20/20 move, but hindsight looks UGLY.

If klefbom turns into the real deal, that makes him look like a less incompetent GM

Wonder what the price would be for evander Kane? Could we get him with a first, second rounder and another piece, prospect or roster player

No need to feel bad for us, we really aren't putting up with anything. Don't have to read his blogs, and really I am just here to b.s. with all the (frank)ers here.
Plus now it is getting really funny cause clout's keeps getting pissed at me for saying he knows sh!te about hockey, and he really isn't proving me wrong.

I love COL's F depth. I want them to trade McGinn to EDM. Their D and goaltending is a huge problem though.

that's the difference. they won't watch a season just fall into the abyss like the Oilers and especially Tambo, last year. he literally watched the season disappear while RNH and Horcoff were hurt and we had Smyth and Arcobello playing centre. he should have been skidded right then and there.

Am I the only one who DOESN'T have a problem with Omark?

He produced at a top-6 level in his rookie season here and played a strong possession game while being paired with sub-par linemates (Horcoff in particular). His second season and the way he left were by no means endearing, but management didn't exactly treat him "right" either from what little I heard. All signs indicate that he'd bring an even stronger game than that of his rookie season were he to return (on or outside of the Oilers). I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't mind adding him, too!

- MaximumBone

I can't argue with this logic at all. I'd give him another chance under Eakins. his skill set is world class but his work ethic is garbage. work ethic can be taught, maturity can be learned, but skill/talent is DNA.

RC... Normally I laugh when everyone else is grilling you about the stupid stuff that sometimes slips into the blogs. I try to keep it to the hockey, but this time you've really crapped your pants.

1. Turn klefblom into a lw? Brutal. Leave the boy be. Let him turn into the d-man he was meant be. The #1 d man the oilers have been lacking since pronger.

2. I don't understand how representing your fellow player/employee, trying to establish safer working conditions and the increased wealth that all players have gained, is being a traitor? For as much as some of the owners may hate him, I'm sure Eric sleeps quite well at night knowing he made strong contributions to advancing players and spreading awareness about concussions and their long-term risks. He was the most dominant player in the nhl for a stretch of 4-5 years in the mid 90's. He will get in, just when is the question.

3. The spawn cog jersey sucks. It just does. It was a total Xmas time money grab when it came out. Junk. Total junk.

4. Finally, your woeful knowledge of the new divisions and n. American geography, for that matter, makes you look very silly and does nothing for the credibility of your blog.

Lindros changed the way ALL GM's put together a blue line, you change the way people think about the game, you're getting in the Hall of Fame, what an asinine comment yet again by D1ck Cloutier

Oilers should offer sheet, there out of options...but if your gonna offer sheet be bold about it don't just offer the guy something that the other team will easily match.
Oilers have a ton of cap space so they can afford to over pay in an offer sheet, throw three millions at Kyle Clifford, is he worth that? Nope..at least not yet but he brings it every game, he's a bit smaller than Penner but still a big guy and plays twice as big as Penner and can chip in the odd goal here and there..he can skate in the top six if he's needs to.
Him and Paajarvi could switch being on the 2nd line LW depending on how it goes.

Give Clifford 3 million for three years..won't hurt the Oilers cap wise, huge overpayement but it'll still only cost them a 2nd rounder.

Cmon MacT! Be Bold.

You can't just go around offer sheeting players because in the end, what goes around, comes around.

GM's know this, in fact many have great relationships & just don't do it because it upsets the apple cart. You can say it's business but in the end, it's more than that & it comes down to a code amongst GM's & some who will never do it whether or not it can improve their team or not.

It's out of respect and even if you offer sheet a player or players, how would you like it the other way because if you get a reputation for doing it, don't think for a moment the Oilers aren't going to be in a situation in a few years where the exact same thing will happen to them.

If you think they're going to sign all their studs to long-term deals, you're dreaming.

Holmgren just recently did one for Weber, I guess you are forgetting this.

It was outrageous but I bet he didn't give a flying fuk about how Poille felt, or the potential for backlash.

I don't think it is a regularly used tactic because it seems cheap, but I think the GMs of the league have a better understanding of which situations could use one...the standoff between Weber and NAsh was one. I think the StL and AP/CS is another.

I never said it didn't happen but it's not a common thing for various reasons.

If GM's want to intentionally handicap another team by sending a stupid offer sheet like the Flyers did last year, then again, what goes around, comes around.

I don't think you would like if a team offer-sheeted Hall, Yak, Ebs or any of the young studs for 8yrs @ 9 million per season - would you??

You know what's funny Penner and Vanek.

Who was offer sheeted by us? And keep in mind a team could just (frank) with us and offer 3mil for Prv.

They are question marks, but I like how they are going ahead with it, instead of doing another drastic EJ type trade, or over spending on a UFA Free Agent.

They are going to get a good evulation of Barrie and Elliott with regular ice time. Constantly calling them up and sending them down from the AHL didnt help them. Having an a d coach and goalie coach this year, I think its the actual first time they had a goalie coach since they moved to Denver.

Spending the time actually coach Varly, Barrie, and Elliott, and to some extent EJ will show if we have keepers or just average players. After that they can start making moves if they dont fit well into Roys system

That's what happens when you're working on two things at once.

And since when does Anaheim count as a team?

since they won a cup?
