Adding to what I said about Hemsky Schultz marincin and 2nd for 2nd line LW

What about Simmons Coburn for Hemsky (retain 1.5) and nick (retain 1-1.25) marincin and a 1st and a conditional 2nd if Hemsky plays less than 50 games

We may need to add or whatever, but Philly needs to lose cap space because as of right now they are over. A healthy Hemsky is a pretty good player, nick Schultz is a good dman and the held cap makes 5.75 for both players. Marincin is a promising prospect probably just a nudge behind klefbom in terms of readiness and the first round pick doesn't hurt. The condional second is a gift for Philly if Hemsky continues his injury prone ways

Not a big fan of Jones but him on a 1 year deal is infinitely better than Nystrom or Hendricks for 4 years.
- Jack-artist

Jones will play better on a line with MPS and Gordon rather than with Belanger.

So...you're not in favor of the new arena?
- TheTaoOfSemenko

Sorry I will be more exact in this.

Edmonton NEEDS a new area. this isn't up for debate. The downtown concept is well received with me. Down town Edmonton is one of the worst down towns I have ever been too. Only Hamilton is worst IMO. Anything to make this better is a great idea.

Getting bent over by a very finically intelligent tycoon, is my issue. How this is being built is garbage. Look at what's going on with Phoenix right now. It wasn't that long ago that they where riding a huge financial up turn, but they also took the one of the biggest crashes. Today the city owned arena is killing that city. There isn't enough money in the Budget for fuel for the fire department but they have to hand out extra money to the Coyotes because if they don't they losses will be even worst.

Well folks, it wasn't that long ago that Alberta teams where in a major down turn. both teams where looking at moving because of the poor dollar, low oil prices and lack of jobs. It was a similar situation to what is going on down south.

Now this is going to happen in Alberta again, because it is just the way things happens. Chances are it's going to happen before the arena is paid off too. Then what? Are you ready to fork out more money to keep the team? You know Katz isn't going to do it.

10-15 years from now I would be bold enough to predict that Edmonton Oilers fans are going to be ready to hang Katz because he will be bring up moving the team or wanting more money again.

Don't kid your selfs. this is a business for him. he tug on your heart strings and emotions and used dumb asses like David Staples to get his message across and it was a a ploy to get him self the best deal. He doesn't care about you the fan, or about winning or any of that. You don't get to be come a billionaire in the Pharmacy Business by caring about stuff like that. ANd for all you people that supported him, because YOU CAN"T LOSE THE TEAM, well you just got played.

So i love the idea of a new area, but you got screwed by KATZ.

I'd like to see us sign a few NBA players. I don't give a (frank) if they've every played hockey... As long as they're over 7'0'' I'm good with it. What's Gheorghe Mureșan up to these days?

Oh so lets run him out of town then. When you have this many holes on a team, finding serviceable isn't a bad thing. Plus why shouldn't he get 15 goal/year a guy money. How many Oilers have scored 15 goals or more in the past 3 years. Go back past his injury and the same bone heads where wanting to trade him too because he didn't do something that they wanted.

Yes you are an idiot. Not because you don't think like me but because like most Oilers fans, you haven't had the privilege of watching many ACTUAL HOCKEY PLAYERS play in such a long time, that you know don't know what one is, unless he is named Hall, and even then you want to make him a center.

Good luck to the players on this team. As for the management, ownership and most of the fans, you deserve a losing team just because you don't know how to appreciate the good things. Jones has been one of the moves that actually worked out for this team and dumb asses like you have wanted to skid him since he got here.

Why you jealous because he had some success? He a better hockey player then you? Better hair? Actually can do something with his life.

Yes I'm calling you and fans, more specifically Oilers Fans, like you idiots. Why. Because I'm sick of hearing you rip anything that is good about this team while you drink the kool-aid and fight like crazy to help a billionaire completely rip off the city, because it's good for THE TEAM.

Talk to me in 10 years when Katz has Edmonton by the nuts again, the stars of today are long gone because the got sick of IDIOTS like you in the stands and KLowe has lead Edmonton to the bottom of the standings again.

How exactly is our arena situation in any way similar to Phoenix. Their arena is in Glendale, ours will be down town... Their fan base is 60+ years old and retired, ours is EVERY SINGLE EDMONTONIAN. I love how you are actually trying to predict a down turn in the Alberta economy. Like you actually have a god damn clue what oil prices will be. Do you even know what drives the correlation between the american and Canadian dollar? The oilers are profitable without making the playoffs. I'd like to take your Oiler fan card, please and thank you.

It will l happen. Draft ,free agency, GM's and Agents are (frank)ing busy right now. RFA's typically take longer to negotiate, because they have to actually negotiate. Free Agency is best offer at noon kinda poop.

Colorado is no longer in our division.

Colorado doesn't have the greatest D at the moment.

Colorado has tons and tons of centres.

Colorado might did a playmaking winger for their centres.

Hemmer/Schultz to Colorado?

Oh yeah - not worried, to redwolfs point perhaps 4.5 is not enough depending on term...not sure Sammy is worth 5 million but if the cap is on the up---bordering on 70 million---the Oilers should be able to handle five million.

Not sure how much UFA deals at this time will effect an RFA like Samwise but you have to wonder if they're going to hold strong at five million.

Interesting. And it's not like Hemsky is old.

They are set down the middle. In a couple years they'll be able to move even a Duchene or O'Reilly for a nice return.

EDIT: Or (depending on cap) O'Reilly stays on third line and they fukk the league up for a while.
