Seguin is 5.7

He's a fantastic player. That's not an unreasonable contract for a fantastic 21 year old player.

Bruins got worse and they abandon anyone that doesn't fit into their "we are bruins this is how we do things" mentality.

- Putzfrau

That may be true but they have to make choices, do you keep Seguin or do you keep Marchand, Bergeron, Lucic, Krejci, Rask, among others.

Wish we had to make choices like that.

So that has made me feel better becuz I wouldn't do that trade

Their system stifles production. I don't kno show you can't see that. There hasn't been one top tier point scorer on the bruins since Thornton left.

Obviously it worked out for them, but its still a fact.

- Putzfrau

it goes both ways. datsyuk said once that he could score a ton of goals a season more than he did but he was defensively responsible because it prevented goals and that's why he did it. the boston bruins work under the same mindset. just score more than you allow. the devils did it too. it's easier to set up a system like that than the chicago blackhawks who just have insane amounts of scoring and a few franchise defensemen that hold it down, well i guses that's not entirely accurate either since toews and co can play defense team wise too.

Eriksson will never hit the point totals he had in Dallas. Iginla looked old and listless for almost the entirety of the playoffs,

I'd take Horton peverly and Seguin over iginla and eriksson all day.

I think your looking way too much into it. They traded Seguin because they could get a really solid return, and he wasn't as good as Krecji or Bergeron yet. And he's a center playing wing.

Ding ding ding.

I guess I just feel like Seguin is someone you'd want to make work.

Who else does Boston have that's a potential 21 year old superstar?

If we lose out to Grabovski would anyone mind taking in Peter Mueller.
Could be our 2nd or 3rd line center.

How is it a choice between Seguin and all those?

Ad I wouldn't give rask the 7-8 mil he wants.

Personally I don't think he's a potential superstar on any team. I think he's a 65-75 point guy that can really skate. I think they unloaded him because they knew that and wanted to get a big return before he turned into just another role player for them

Patrick Kane is also a 75 point guy.

Cause no one in the last 10 years has gone to Boston and had their totals go up?

Because Thornton left past his prime and put up more points in sj. Horton put up better numbers in FLORDIA?

Which is true but let's be honest.
1. He was a 1st overall pick so he's more known league wide
2. If it wasn't for his playoff heroics he might not be considered a "superstar"

My point is that Seguin will never turn out to be a future MVP, at least IMO he won't

so because he's on boston and will only get 70 pts it's a bad trade ?

Seguin was second overall?

Was considered a major part of the bruins run the cup when they won it.
