Maybe Darcy is gonna blow our minds and lace up the skates for that veteran presence on the ice. |

Youth ? I'll give ya youth :
Leino Hodgson Armia
Foligno Ennis Stafford
Larson Grigorenko Ott
Kaleta Girgensons Tropp
Extra : Flynn - for now. If they sign someone in the next few days, hopefully we don't have to see Flynn in the lineup.
(in NO WAY does Porter and Scott get into my lineup).
D :
Ehrhoff Ristolainen
Weber Myers
Pysyk Zadorov
Extra : McNabb (bye bye, Ruhwedel)
Enroth/Hackett
(Miller/Vanek gone for picks, prospects) |

1) Where are McBain and McNabb?
2) McCabe is committed to college.
3) What's wrong with Flynn?
4) Who the hell is going to lead these kids on and off the ice? Stafford? Leino? That's laughable, to say the least. You need a few HONEST grizzled vets.
5) I will guarantee that Zadorov is not ready. He's still raw, first round pick or not. |

Unless any of these guys are still looking for a team in a week or two I doubt they will end up the Sabres.
The Sabres just are not anyone's first choice right now.
Maybe in a couple years, but not now. |

McBain to Rochester. I typed McCabe instead of McNabb - sorry ! I was looking at a prospects list and had a brain fart. Also, I think McBain was a throw-in.
Flynn - meh.
Ott, Weber, and Ehrhoff will bring the veteran leadership.
If I'm going all-out for the youth movement, Zadorov makes the team - rookie mistakes and all. |

I saw reports last night that both Erhoff and Hodgson would like to be traded now. Sigh. How did it get to this? |

Sign Grabo, Brunner, and Raymond. That can be our 2nd line. Send Down Flynn and Porter. |

Grabovskis interview regarding his coach
“I play in the [expletive] Russian KHL, I make lots of [expletive] points and what’s going to happen? He makes me [expletive] play on the fourth line and he put me in the playoffs on the fourth line and third line again,” Grabovski said. “Yeah, I don’t score goals. I need to work more about that. I know that. But if you feel support from your coach [you'll find success]. I don’t feel any support from this [expletive] idiot.”

McBain is an NHL defenseman. He had a sh!t year last year, but his previous 2 full seasons he had goal totals of 7 & 8, and point totals of 27 & 30. I think he's going to have something to prove.
Keep in mind, too, the team still has an obliigation to the fans - especially the season ticket holders - to put a good product on the ice. We can't ice a team consisting of 50% rookies and expect anything but mistakes.
And that's also not fair to these kids. You can't just expect to throw them to the wolves and think good things are going to happen. Some will swim, but others will sink.
Do I expect some rookies this year? Absolutely, and I'm looking forward to it.
The thing I'm concerned with is Edmonton Oiler-itis. Too much youth to soon, and they don't succeed.
Hey, maybe I'm wrong, and we will ice all these rookies and it will be the most exciting Sabres team in 5 years.
We'll see. |

Why wouldn't they? If you're them, give me one reason why you'd want to be here. For the record, I couldn't care less about trading Cody. If the Ehrhoff thing is true though, the suffering thing is going to be pretty serious. |

I actually love it. Shows he has fire. He has a point though. None of us liked how Grigorenko played on the 4th line. I want him here just for the games against Toronto

Yeah, and its not like we're gunning for a cup right away. The last thing I want is the oiler-itis like you mentioned or forced nhl minutes stunting the development of guys like girgensons or grigorenko. |

I'm sure there are. Remember Derek Roy? I'm sure there are plenty of others. Grabo actually shows real fire. Granted not the best way to express it but him being bought out should motivate him |

Not sure how close you follow the teams out west but Raymond's biggest knock over the last 3 years is that he CAN'T finish. As a Canucks fan it's sometimes infuriating at the amount of times he used his blazin' speed to get to the net but just couldn't finish the play. Perhaps a change of scenery will help.. |

I like raymond's game. Good 3rd line player. |
|
|
|
Grabo 2 years under 4
Penner 1 years under 3
Raymond 2 years under 3.5
Brunner 3 years under 3.5
Any of those I would be happy with.....they all have problems and short contracts with maybe 500,000 over payment I would think is acceptable.

Playing them with 4th line players will stunt their development. None of them should be playing with scott, keleta, or even ott. |
