Playing them with 4th line players will stunt their development. None of them should be playing with scott, keleta, or even ott. - alexthegr8
well thats just not true at all....Better to play with scott, kaleta and ott then sit in the pressbox. |

Grabo 2 years under 4
Penner 1 years under 3
Raymond 2 years under 3.5
Brunner 3 years under 3.5
Any of those I would be happy with.....they all have problems and short contracts with maybe 500,000 over payment I would think is acceptable. - toddkac
Grabovski is probably going to get somewhere between 4-4.5 which is about where he should in the market set by yesterday. Id take him at 4 I'd be ok with him at 4.5 but not thrilled.
Penner is in the same boat IMO. I would take him at 2 years 7-8 mil total. As long as we sign Grabovski. That's two big bodies up front that we need. Grabo doesn't use his very much but Penner is more physical. On a side note if Stafford could turn into Penner I'd hate him less
I don't really like Raymond but I get why people want him. Brunner is interesting to me. He had a pretty decent half season but I wouldn't go more than 3 years on him as well. No clue what a full season would be like for him.
I have to say Todd this is twice in a week I have agreed with you |

whhooaa the sky has fallen.....I think overpayinng on short term contracts is low risk high reward....I dont trust Penner and the only person I would give more then 2 years is Brunner.....
By the time the sabres are ready to compete these guys either ca shape up or the sabres dan ship them out. |

How did that work out with grigo? Point is, you surround them with players of the same skill set. |

yes sitting in the press box is better then having an opportunity to score a goal and show you deserve more ice time.
Man where do you come up with this stuff? It is hard not to become a jerk when you post stuff like this. - toddkac
having an opportunity to score? with john scott on your line?

I will probably be against the grain but I am all for the kids staying in buffalo.. stashing them in roch or juniors is no better to me.... I'd rather have them here with their teammates getting nhl quality competition....
Girgensons, grigo, armia, larsson, pysyk, mcnabb, and risto especially...
Zadorov just isn't ready.. |

Are you really that daft? If Grigorenko is a future superstar then he can step up and score....or are you saying Grigorenko is uncapable of creating offence and the only time Grigorenko is capable of producing is if he has high end talented wingers....
Players get put on the fourth line all the time....ask them if they would rather be in the press box......everytime Grigorenko steps on the ice no matter what line it is he is gaining experience.
But thats ok I know know you dont understand or ever played at a high level of sport. |

Brunner does not defend well...he was actually bad defensively most of the regular season.
I would call his speed slightly above average...you won't see him beat many defenders to the loose pucks. Somehow there's this notion that he has high end speed. He's more of an east/west style.
Offensively he has a lot of bad habits and toe drags way too much. Seemed like the league got tape on him and went 19 games without a goal. There is offensive talent there and he loves to throw the puck at the net but he looks raw most nights.

I saw reports last night that both Erhoff and Hodgson would like to be traded now. Sigh. How did it get to this? - truthbluth
Erhoff can rot in hell before I'd listen to his trade demands. He's been paid a load of money up front so he should shut his pie hole. |

I agree to a point. You can't throw these kids to the wolves. Losing night in night out can damage a kids development more than having to start in Rochester |
