I'm fine Malone back but he's not the need of this team and he's constantly hurt. Plus Bennett needs to be on a top line all year. The Pens need to really revaluate the defense... Start trusting the younger guys and bring back Scuderi please. Nisk needs to be traded. |

I hope this meaans Glass is expendable - Orpik44
only problem with this is glass is 1.1 mil next year signed. nobody is going to want to trade for him and the pens certainly wont buy him out... so glass is gonna be pretty set on that 4th line |

I don't know much about baseball, at all, but looking at the list of the biggest HR hitters in history I saw the Chicago White Sox have two of the best right now.
Is there a better HR duo than Adam Dunn (426 HR) and Paul Konerko (429 HR) in the league playing right now, considering their age (33 and 37 respectively)?
Albert Pujols 33 years old, 488 HR (He is going to break a lot of records, still).
Alex Rodriguez 37 yo, 647 HR is just amazing. - Orpik44
Adam Dunn's stat line:
426 HR, 600 hits, 10k strikeouts. |

Harry Z would have no bearing on any of the current or potential roster. |

We got Zolnierczyk?????
Great, we need this puke because Cooke is going to be a gonner?
Not thrilled with his history or this deal. But I've been wrong before. - Sell My Monkey
This has nothing to do with Cooke. If Shero thinks Harry Z. can be Cooke, he just turned into the worst GM in the league absent three others. Harry Z. wishes he could be 30% of Matt Cooke.

Malone is a pass for me. I might think otherwise if they get him dirt cheep.
I have to admit, I'm really disappointed that Bylsma is coming back. Was reading some stuff on TIOPS and It leads me to believe we'll see a repeat of our playoff failures next year regardless of what the roster looks like.

the short version of the answer to this, is that none of those players are even remotely as relevant today as those numbers would imply. Pujols does still have some life in him though, and i have always enjoyed Konerko. Just a steady player |

Why not buy him out? If you don't use them you lose them and the pens dot really have bad contracts right now. |

Totally agree with this. Pens will not be using any comp buyouts anyway...may as well get him off the roster as he is not a fit in a DB system.
I would even investigate a replacement for Adams but I'm not advocating that the Pens not bring him back, I think we just need to speed up that 4th line a bit. |

I think the comparison to Glass is more appropriate than the comparison to Cooke. |

4th line was awesome with vitale and Kennedy on it. Adams is an underrated leader and PKer. Next year I'd like
Bennett-Crosby-dupuis
Kunitz-Malkin-Neal
Cooke-sutter-jokinen
Adams-vitale-Kennedy
Kunitz permanently with Malkin would do wonders, and what better way to help build Bennett's development/confidence than to play with Sid. |

To clarify, I mean in terms of a roster spot. Z simply doesn't bring the elements Cooke does. |

Malone adds nets presence with decent hands which we need. BUT, more banged up than a sorority girl at a pledge party. You know the 'easy' one. |

Is that supposed to be bad? 10K strikeouts sounds like a lot to me Again, I don't know much about baseball.
What caught my eyes was the amount of HR considering his age: 33.
Pujols obviously is better than him as he ahs 62 more HR. |

Yes that's a crazy amount of strikeouts. He's one of those guys where when he swings its either going over the fence or into the catchers mitt. |

I think Letang's girl, Catherine Laflamme is from the Quebec area...but that doesn't mean he's as weak mentally as Parise

I was exaggerating on his strike out and hits numbers to make my point that its either home run or bust for Dunn. |
